This place is completely overpriced it’s ridiculous. Today my 8 year old went to get medium knotless braids to start back at school. My daughter walked out of the shop with large knotless braids. My mom is the one who went to make the appointment when she did she was told she would need to provide the hair (6 packs for an 8year old) and that it would cost $170 (way too much) my mom doesn’t get a full head of braids so she was not aware. Once she informed me I told her to cancel the appointment but my Mom convinced me otherwise.

I have gone to this shop for years. I’ve learned to take the good with the bad. I have always left the shop satisfied with my hair. I have now realized a good shop is much more than the out come of your hair. Salon experiences don’t have to be like the experience at style of elegance. The owner Jasmine is always on the phone while doing your hair. Engaging with clients, you know the ones that pay you, not important as the people on the phone I guess. I have very thick hair, I wish i had a dollar for every time jasmine told me she hated doing my hair. She always seems like she had to make a point to let me know my hair was awful and that she hated it. There have been times where Jasmine would move others that had later appointments ahead of me, her excuse “there hair is way better and easier to do”. She made me feel like my hair was so awful I hid it under wigs for two years. When I decided that I wanted to go natural, she actually laughed at me saying I would never be able to get it healthy or “manageable”. She tried to convince me to relax my hair numerous of times. Determined, I started washing my own hair and conditioning it myself. I go to the shop pre washed and condition and still get charge the full price of a wash and curl. One time I had plans after my appointment and the person I was scheduled to meet asked when I would be done, I asked jasmine. She responded by screaming ” you will be done when you are done”. I was so embarrassed my friend asked me why on earth would your hair dresser scream like that. Because I am a loyal customer I still continued to go. My thoughts were at least I know what I’m gonna get with her, a couple of insults a little injustice , but my hair will look nice afterwards. My hair is now becoming very healthy with the products I used on my hair on my own. I have realized that the stigma I have had about my hair was a lot to do with the comments that jasmine constantly made. I am excited to continue my healthy hair journey with out the negative comments from Jasmine. If your reading this and your not happy with your hair, remember it can always improve. Make sure you have someone in your corner or should I say behind the chair, that supports and uplifts you!

I scheduled an appointment for my daughter to have her hair braided by Jasmine after coming across the salon’s Instagram page online. It was our first time at the salon and Jasmine made my daughter and I feel so welcomed. I really appreciated that. Thank you Styles of Elegance, for providing excellent customer service!

Terrible experience and paid too much!!! I had three different experiences here and none were good. 1st time the stylist was mediocre and I put my hair in a ponytail as soon as I got in the car. The 2nd was a year later because I thought maybe it was just the stylist. Well Jasmine did my hair and after sitting with wet hair for 30 minutes I had to go because I couldn’t wait any longer. She manages to get off the phone to style my hair minus the trim because I had no time after waiting. Last my daughter really wanted blue color. I called asking for a consult but Jasmine did not want to do that so I agreed to the Saturday appointment. We arrive and after 40 minutes of waiting an assistant starts to blow dry my daughter’s hair. Jasmine didn’t even bother to ask us what color and style we wanted. I had to stop the assistant before they started the bleaching. If I didn’t step in they would have colored more than we wanted. She never asked us what we wanted and frankly the whole time I felt that I was in they way. In the end I paid $90 for my 12 year old to get blue tips that wasn’t even the color she wanted. She walked out with wet hair because after 2 hours and 45 minutes of waiting and poor customer service you just want to go home.

My wife has been going here to get her hair cut and styled for the last couple of months and she loves it. It’s a friendly, professional salon and they have no problem working with natural hair. She’s usually in an out in under 2 hours which, for a ladies’ salon, is pretty good….right?

This shop should change its name to Styles of EXCELLENCE! This was my 1st visit (after dealing with a very unprofessional shop) and I truly appreciate the atmosphere and fantastic service. My stylist Jaminah (and her assistant Christian) was on point! Not only did she fix the cut I had, she also educated me on how to maintain my hair going forward. I felt taken care of as a forever client and not just a hairstyle! I already booked my 2 week appt. and I look forward to visiting as often as I can. THANK YOU! 🙂
