I am 18 freshly out of high school and I was looking for a nice long term job. I had brought my younger sibling to this salon before multiple times. They were looking for an assistant. I went in for an interview. With Dan (manager) and Bill (owner). Everything was going well until Dan had left. Bill proceeded to tell me that my hair looked like a “sad little girl who can’t afford to get her hair done” because I have darker brown dyed hair and I am growing my dirty blonde hair back in so it can be healthy. Told me I “need an eyebrow wax” “need mascara, and bronzer so I can actually look good.” Along with telling me I need to “take care of my nails better” because the paint was slightly chipped. I do understand that at a beauty salon the employees need to look presentable but you should NEVER make comments like this to someone your trying to employ, or anyone for that matter. It’s messed up and so not right. My mother had to call because of how hurt I was and Dan did apologize (even tho he did not do anything) and I still have not gotten an apology from Bill who said all of this.

Walking in to Studio Central is like walking in to a big hug from old friends! The crew here is so warm, friendly and talented! Dan, the manager, is awesome and so personable! I go to Jess for my hair and have yet to be disappointed! She is such a wonderful stylist and person. She listens to what you are looking for and properly brings it to life. This place is a great little escape to pamper yourself and spend time with really genuinely nice people too!

I love this place! I love the atmosphere, very unassuming, down to earth and cozy! Most important the talent at Studio Central is amazing. From Bill the owner being masterful with his scissors to Caitlin a great colorist and Dan who always remembers my name and says hello when you walk in the door. I get the feeling its not about the money they charge its about your hair. They really want you to be happy with their services. They take there time, they listen and at the same time offer their advice which always seems right! I had been with the same salon for about 12 years before moving to the Glastonbury area and tried many in the area but was not happy. I found Studio Central and glad I did. I have been there twice and my hair although damaged from other salons is NOW looking healthy and shiny. I am super happy with them and think they are all great people!

She understood what I wanted to do with my hair and had a “vision” even though I had no idea what I wanted myself! My hair is beautiful- I finally have a style!! I was so impressed I brought my 7 year old daughter in- Christine is magical. My daughters hair is breathtaking. She has the cutest little style that fits her personality perfectly. She understood what I wanted to do with my hair and had a “vision” even though I had no idea what I wanted myself! My hair is beautiful- I finally have a style!! They were so accommodating to the hair catastrophe my sister had earlier this week from another salon! My sisters hair was so beyond broken and damaged that chunks were falling out with every brush stroke. We were referred to Studio Central by a friend who has a relative who works there! When we called and explained the hair emergency they squeezed my sister in to assess the damage same day! They gave her a deep conditioning treatment to help mend the breakage which worked wonders!! Very next day they had her in the chair again to do a color correction and gently repigmented her hair back to a deeper blonde instead of bleach white! The care and compassion Bill Dan and Jess showed through this process was so appreciated! We cannot thank them enough!
