Alex is an amazing color artist! I’ve gotten two different color styles from her now and both were EXACTLY what I was wanting…and more. She listened to me the first time I went and even when I asked for a different type of color this most recent visit managed to stay true to my initial requests. Highly recommend! My hair is happy and healthier after visiting Alex.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, PunctualityI have been searching, rather scouring the land, for a salon experience that incorporates a knowledgeable, skilled stylist that is not only able to deliver but also passionate about the importance of ongoing skills training well after obtaining licensure as a professional hair stylist/aesthetician, what I deem a fundamental and crucial aspect for a high quality, sought after stylist. I believe I have secured that in professional hair stylist Alex Hillard of Sterling Extensions and Beauty Bar. Alex is passionate and well educated in her field. She supplies a generous amount of client education to her patrons, so in turn, clients either build on their understanding or learn the fundamentals. Knowledge is power, after all. At my visit, I received a haircut, several inches removed, color and base tip highlights. Alex was very detailed in the cut, taking her time, not rushing, or worse still, lacking thoroughness and precision. She was very thorough, very precise. The color, a neutral light brown, with warm caramel highlights was blended and executed much to my vision and delight. I left feeling oh so satisfied with my first visit, as a new client, with Alex as my stylist. If you are new to the area or perhaps searching for a new stylist of your own, I would recommend Alex Hillard. If you are looking for an inexpensive cut/color where the end result is a hit or a miss and are comfortable with those odds, I would suggest researching other salons/stylists. It does cost more money, time, and mental energy recovering from a botched hair session than paying for quality and seeing your personal vision/hair desires brought to fruition. Cost will be a consideration for new clients, however, one will find the price point comparable with any high end salon in the Portland Metro area.
