This salon is close to my home and I was intrigued so I called them up. I wanted to do something drastic and cut off my lifelong very long, very curly hair for a fresh look. It is not a decision I made lightly – fellow glamourpusses will understand. From the moment I called the approach was collaborative and inclusive, warm and welcoming. I was scheduled with Jill, the owner, and received periodic text updates about my appointment. The day arrived with excitement, and it was well worth the wait! An adorable salon, neat as a pin, super clean and more like an art studio with high ceilings and lots of well-utilized space. This aesthetic of thoughtful, deliberate design carried over into the services. A lovely wash and condition by the wonderful Lala was followed by a consultation with the pictures I brought, thorough color advice, comprehensive styling tips, and really the most comfortable and creative haircut I have ever received. Best of all my ponytail is being donated to Locks of Love for pediatric cancer patients. This gives my hair that I cherished and babied for so many years a new life where it is needed more . Starlit is definitely a shining star and I am hesitant to tell the world how incredible it was lest I have trouble getting a future appointment due to demand! But even if that were the case, such acclaim is extremely well-deserved. Cutting off long hair for something fresh and sassy (and dare I say – French?) is a choice akin to..i don’t know? Having a baby? Signing on the dotted line? Bungee jumping? All I know is, once decided, there’s no turning back.. After this unparalleled experience, I don’t think I’ll ever want to! Thank you, Jill, thank you, thank you!

What can I say about Jill other than that she’s amazing? she’s exactly what you’d want in a wedding hair stylist– good with communication, making your vision come alive, and exuding big sister vibes. Jill made myself as well as all of my bridesmaids look amazing and did 9 people in 4 hours. We were done early and we all looked great. When I had wedding drama, Jill worked her magic to rearrange the schedule to put the dramatic girls first. My hair stayed all night and Jill even gave us extra hairspray and Bobby pins. I love this Salon and the atmosphere. It’s very relaxed and you feel like you’re at home. Jill, the owner is amazing and knows what she is doing with color. I’m a natural blonde but have gotten darker as I get older and she can give me the platinum color I’m looking for without the brassy tones. Go here, it’s worth it 🙂
