We use medical-grade autoclaves to clean any metal tools just like hospitals, and our files and buffs are all disposable. I had been a loyal customer of Star Nails for years, going monthly to get a pedicure and twice a month all summer for a Dazzle Dry Manicure. The services were always very good. I made appointments for my daughter and I to have manicures and pedicures two weeks in advance of our vacation. When I showed up at the nail salon I was told that I wasn’t on the list. After showing them my confirmation email (I had booked through the online system) I was again told I wasn’t on the list and that they were full for the day. They did not try to make it right, they did not offer to squeeze us in, they did not even acknowledge any error on their part. I asked if I could go to another location and the response was simply, “They are probably booked too.” They did not even offer to call the other salons to check availability. It was infuriating. Your actions have lost you this very loyal customer.

Star Nails is clean, bright, the staff is happy and polite, they have a great range of nail colors and the biggest thing for me, their work is consistent. Meaning you get the same great mani/pedi every time you come in. And when you phone in for your appointment, say hi to Richard, he’s delightful and keeps the place running like a well oiled machine. I promise to you won’t be disappointed with Star Nails.

I have been going to Star Nails and Spa for years when I’m in RI. They are clean and professional and have always done an excellent job on my nails. I recently went there and got my nails done. When I went to pay I usually leave a gratuity for the technicians. This time the guy at the desk said they don’t accept credit card gratuity and I didn’t have cash on me. I offered to pay more for the service and then they could take it out of that but he said they couldn’t do that so I apologized for not being able to leave one and left. (Other salons offered the opportunity to leave a cc gratuity). Anyways a couple of hours later I got a phone call from the salon asking me if I was going to come back and bring with me the gratuity! I was floored! I had received a text message as well stating that I had 400 points towards getting a discount but that was never offered to me when I went to pay for my service. The guy on the phone said I’d get $10 off for 200 points however you accrue a point per dollar that’s spent( I paid $83 and got 83 points via what the text showed me). He then changed what he said and I’d only be able to use the points once it hit 400 points. After this terrible experience I have completely lost respect for their establishment in East Greenwich. It’s a shame they don’t share the same love and respect towards their paying customers as we do as customers. I loved my nail techs there and I’ll miss their expertise. But I have never felt more insulted and disrespected as I did after this service. And someone should report them for their point system because it’s completely out of whack. Do better Star Nails. Do better than this. Or you will continue to lose customers.

I have been going to this salon for about six months. I always request Lee to do my nails..she is wonderful. At my last appointment about two weeks ago, I was told when I arrived that Lee was not available ( I had booked a gel mani and a pedicure with her three days prior. ). The “receptionist” asked if I wanted to go to someone else and since I was going to a wedding the next day, I said yes. The gel mani lasted just over a week.

All went well until I was ready to pay. I booked online for a gel pedicure (#211 $50) and gel manicure (#111 $35). I was told I owed $110. That didn’t seem right and I asked why. They said the gel pedicure was $20 extra. THAT STILL DOESNT ADD UP! I am unconfrontational so I left and checked the math and my online booking and I am convinced I was over charged by $25!

Linda does a great job. My nails look so pretty. I get so many compliments. The overlay is nice and natural looking versus the acrylic. It’s supposed to be more healthy for your nails too. The location is safe and clean. I like that they send you text reminders for your appointment, and the staff is friendly.

I don’t usually write negative reviews, but the manager was so unprofessional that I wanted to give others a heads up. I had an appointment booked in advance for myself and my daughter for her birthday. 4 hours before our appointment he called to let me know they could not honor our appointment. I expressed my disappointed and the manager said, “ok cool” and hung up on me. I’m not sure if there is new ownership here, but over this past year the services we’ve had were not as good as they use to be and their customer service today was extremely poor. I will gladly support a different local nail salon going forward.

My boyfriend made a reservation for us a week ahead of time. At the time, he was told by technicians that we can request cruelty free products during the time of our treatment, and that they are available at all times for clients. We recently went to our appointment to find out absolutely NOTHING used is cruelty free, the main desk was also extremely unhelpful and dismissive.
