I’ve referred probably close to 2 dozen people over the years and most of them are still her clients as well. Her skills behind the chair are incredible. She’s curly cut my curls and also given me beautiful layers and sharp bobs when I’m going through a stage of blowing out my hair. I’ve always loved how she cuts and styles my hair. I’ve always said she’s a hair magician. The salon is adorable, nicely spaced out and everyone is so kind. Vanessa always runs on time and is a great communicator, and cuts my hair based on what we discuss, not just what she wants to do. I have had previous pleasant experiences here with Michael, highly recommend! Today I had a 5:40pm appointment with Rhiannon for a bang trim. Earlier today she had texted me asking if I could move my 5:40pm appointment to 3:30pm. I had other obligations this afternoon so I was unable to switch, the 5:40pm was just what I needed. I showed up to Sparrow Hair Parlour at 5:30pm for my 5:40pm appointment. As soon as I walked in Rhiannon greeted me from the back room and said she’d be right up to help me. I was happy to wait thinking it would be 5 minutes or so while she finished up with the other client. I waited in the lobby area until 6:00pm and Rhiannon was still working with the previous client. I scheduled this 5:40pm appointment because I had to be somewhere at 6:30pm. Usually a bang trim takes 15-20min and I’m in & out. I do understand that a bang trim is a small service and not very costly, but I’m still a paying customer. I felt like an inconvenience to the stylist.

My stylist at Sparrow, Lindsey Green, is phenomenal! She does an outstanding combination of balayage, highlights, and blending, and she gets the blonde perfectly every time. Unfortunately, I can’t give Sparrow a higher review than three stars due to poor management on behalf of Vanessa’s part. After I showed up for a handful of appointments over the last year, and after arranging childcare and to leave from work, I was told the appointment had to be rescheduled, and due to their system not working, they weren’t able to contact me. Upon bringing this to the attention of Vanessa, she bluntly told me there was nothing she could do other than hope it doesn’t happen again. When I said I was surprised she wasn’t interested in offering something additional, she rudely said, “Do you want a free hair cut?” I told her that I didn’t think the stylist should have to pay for her iPad not working correctly, only to be rudely told it wasn’t an issue with the iPad but the receptionist not inputting my phone number correctly. She then proceeded to tell me Lindsey would love to see me at my next appointment but if it was too much, she understood if I didn’t want the service. Being that she’s a stylist herself and the manager, I couldn’t believe she was so quick to eradicate business. While I’ll continue to see Lindsey, I’ll also happily follow her if and when she leaves for greener pastures. I would have expected far better management, especially in light of covid.

I waited 20 minutes past the appointment. The hair cut and wash took less time than the time I waited. I should have gone to great clips and paid way less for the same quality of service. I am not sure if she even knew my name as she didn’t introduce herself. I booked online, with a different stylist, and was hoping to have a nice experience rather than how fast can I cut your hair.
