Critical: Communication, Professionalism, QualityI booked facials and massages for myself and my sister visiting from out of town in October 2020. I am clueless how this business has received a Google rating of 4.7. First and foremost, there is nothing spa-like about this salon/spa. It is a booth rental salon with a room for facials. My experience went like this: somewhat loud rock and roll music was playing in the salon while we waited. I’m not sure why, but our services were 20 minutes late getting started and we appeared to be the first appointment of the day at 10:00. We were set up in the SAME room together for both services – 4 people in a 12 x 10 room during Covid social distancing mandates. The room was not even large enough for the massage therapist to get around the portable massage bed and the face rest didn’t even have a cover over it. We were seated in the salon (in our wrap around shortie towels) while the beds were converted for our switch of service. Bathroom was not only not spa-like, it was not even professional by any means and had NO soap! There was even an unused room available with a full size massage bed in it; I have no idea why it was not being used.My facial was enjoyable and left my skin glowing 🙂 My sister left with a sizable raw patch of skin around her nose which formed a scab overnight from aggressive exfoliation.Massage was disappointing for both of us as it was not smooth or relaxing. There was a bit of a language barrier with Massage Therapist (ADA). She used the appropriate level of pressure, but I would describe much of her technique as aggressive jerky, scrub-like movements. She did work out some knots in my shoulders :-), but overall, I felt I had been “roughed up.” In summary, I will not visit this location again, but recommend MAY, the aesthetician, for a facial.
