*WARNING* If you book services and they tack on charges making the service out of your budget, you will still be charged. I wanted to leave and go somewhere more reasonable, but I was told I couldn’t without being charged. I awkwardly had my hair done, only to leave and find that I still had chemicals in my hair. The smell was so strong and my hair was extremely oily. I called and told them my issue and how my scalp was burning. I was told that it wasn’t real and there’s no reason it should be happening. I ended up with chemical burns. You can see the redness on my scalp immediately following the service in the pictures, as well as the residue in my hair. I had to wash my hair when I got home to try and get relief, which ruined my color. It’s been a few weeks and my scalp has finally started to heal. I have a child with special needs and her therapy is terribly expensive, I’m extremely disappointed that my family’s money went towards such a horrible experience.

As someone who has gone to many different salons over the years and never had the greatest luck with results, I can say I will be making Southern Roots hair salon my new salon. I hadn’t had a hair cut in over a year due to fear that my hair would get cut poorly or damaged again thanks to a bad stylist at one of the ultra locations. I was in desperate need of a hair and searched google for the best reviews. I found Southern Roots, gave them a quick call, and Ms. Lee was able to get me in as soon as they opened up. She was super nice and personable, and very thorough in helping me figure out what was best for my damaged hair. I will definitely be coming back to Southern Roots and asking for Ms. Lee!

I got my hair colored at a different salon and did not like the outcome so I made a last minute appointment here. I had an amazing experience with Abbey!! She listened to my concern and made my hair look a lot more pleasing! The salon is very clean and all of the staff was very friendly and accommodating!

Lee and Abbey are both excellent with highlights and getting one’s hair to go more blonde. I almost went back to my dark hair because I couldn’t get it the color I wanted until I went to this salon.
