Had a great experience here. The staff was incredibly friendly and very skilled. My cut came out exactly the way I was hoping, which has been a struggle at some barber shops. Love that you can get a couple free drinks with your haircut. The only thing I wish they did was include a shampoo and wash with each haircut. I hate feeling all itchy after haircuts.

Crystal is great and provides a great haircut. My issue is with the owners. $28 was already overpriced for a haircut in South Carolina, but then this year they raised the price by $4! Regardless of the circumstances, that’s an unreasonable price increase. They also charge you a $1 fee for using a credit card. Credit card companies have a rule that if the consumer has the credit card physically present then such fees are disallowed, but these owners don’t seem to care about that. Maybe if you’re having trouble managing your business and have to raise prices by an unreasonable amount and charge additional fees, start by getting rid of the “free” beer. Does anyone really need a beer when they get their haircut? How about for those of us who don’t need that haircut beer, we get a $4 discount? It’s a shame that quality barbers may lose business over poor ownership decisions.

Because this is a bit of a niche service, it’s possible my opinion could help someone. I have found it very difficult to find a competent barber in the area. Competent in regards to a traditional razor shave. I have just had my first visit with a young lady named Crystal at The Southern Gentleman’s Barbering Company in Lexington. She is by far the best I have had in the area. I would actually say she rivals the best I’ve had anywhere in the country. She is professional and was incredibly attentive to detail. The shave was excellent. She did a wonderful job with the haircut as well. The shampoo service was relaxing and also very well done. I intend to consider her my regular barber for the foreseeable future.
