However when I found Stacey at Sola Salons, I think it was fate! Not only does she have the most calming demeanor, she happens to give amazing haircuts! Not to sound super cheesy, but I went from drab to fab in one haircut!! I recently moved to Blaine, and I haven’t had a steady hair stylist forever. Actually, I also haven’t even had a trim or haircut in about a year. Of course, being a single mom of a toddler girl keeps me busy on top of everything else, so I’ve become pretty low maintenance when it comes to my hair. However when I found Stacey at Sola Salons, I think it was fate! Not only does she have the most calming demeanor, she happens to give amazing haircuts! I’ve always known that I have wavy hair, and with the increased length, I decided to finally embrace it. Then my regular stylist decided to stay home and take care of her family, so I needed to find someone new. I tried an excellent stylist from my old salon, and she did exactly what I requested, but I didn’t know how to request the change I was seeking, and I did not get the rounded shape I was hoping for. I also don’t think she understood my desire to use curl-friendly methods. Disappointed with the cut, and after watching some videos, I tried trimming it myself, which was mostly a disaster. 🙂 Never doing that again! Finally I went online to find a stylist who knows about curly and wavy hair, and was lucky enough to find Melissa. It took a while to get an appointment, but that was fine with me—it just means that she has a loyal clientele. Besides, I’m not going anywhere these days, that’s for sure!Finally, the day of my appointment arrived. I was not particularly worried, because if I had two bad cuts in a row (including the one I gave myself) so it wasn’t going to hurt me if I got one more. But based on reviews from other people, I didn’t think that would happen, and I was right!Melissa listened carefully, made sure she understood my goals, enquired about my knowledge and current products, and carefully cut my hair in a way that makes me look good now, but also will allow me to be happy while it grows. She educated me throughout the process and showed me techniques that were never clear to me previously, despite all my online research.I left feeling stylish and happy! I look good and have a plan for the future.
