Catelyn Glenn – Studio C – Fifty Percent of my long hair is gone Razored and sheared off while I thought I was only getting one inch cut off of my hair. My hair was razored and sheared from the scalp down while I thought my hair was being combed. Half the hair on each side of my head gone and cut our all around my ears. Locks of hair missing. Bald spots all over my head and at the crown while a long spider web of hair was left from my shoulders down. I am livid. All the hair ariound my face cut short. I have spent YEARS GROWING MY HAIR AND SHE KNEW THIS!!!!

Sola Salon Studios is a collection of hair stylists under one roof. I believe there are about 20 stylists. Laura Glidden is our favorite. Laura has styled our hair for about 3 years. My daughter comes up from Pineville just to have Laura color her hair. I’m sure the other stylists are pretty good, but Laura was highly recommended. That says something.

I arrived twenty minutes early to my appointment. Kimberly Keys was my stylist. I had a previous consultation and discussed my needs with her. We agreed on what would be done. I specifically stated in the consultation that I did NOT desire “a lot” or “bright” highlights. I am a brunette. I wanted to remain a burnette with a “few caramel” highlights. So when the appointment began she asked no questions, and never went over what we had discussed in the week prior’s consultation.So once the appointment started I initiated a sort of verbal refresher from our previous consult. Kimberly Keys kept dumping “color” into a bowl on top of a scale and repeated several times,”Trust me”. Kimberly showed me no hair swatches to refresh and make certain we were BOTH on the same page.She just started by using foils to do my “light and few” highlights. I was getting nervous about all the foils she was adding(I have long hair). I actually stopped her and said,”remember we talked about caramel highlights and just a “few”. She repeated AGAIN, “Trust me”. The red flags started. Her girlfriend came in and Kimberly told me to sit in the hall on a bench while she just blew out her friends hair. Beautiful hair, but it was ,long and curly. It took a long time as her friend shared pictures on her phone as Kimberly worked. I am thinking at about the twenty minute mark, “She should be checking these foils to see if I need to be rinsed. Finally ,I was able to come off the hallway bench and back in the chair. I could tell immediately there was a problem as she shampooed my hair she kept separating my hair at my hair part and scrubbing. Several times she did this. I said ,”How did the highlights come out?” Kimberly Keys hesitated and turned me physically in the chair “away from the mirror.” I asked her again,”How did the highlights turn out?” Kimberly said ,”Well, highlights NEVER turn out just right.” I asked to be turned around towards the mirror. I took one look and did not speak. I was stunned. My brown hair was TOO DARK and I had “white”highlights. She left the foils on my head too long and only checked on them once.The time she hurried me back to the chair. “Kimberly said,”I can tell by the look on your face your not happy .” I calmly said, “No, I am not.” Kimberly then said ,”Well, I DONT HAVE TIME TO FIX IT TODAY”. I sat in silence and then said,”Well,I am NOT leaving looking like this.” Kimberly dumped “toner” on my “white Highlights” and asked me to sit back on the bench in the hallway. A new client enters and she is frantically behind and in a hurry. Kimberly texts,looks at the clock. Kimberly comes out and looks at my “toner” and I am done agian with my “bench in the hallway time”. She washes out the toner and then says .”I DONT HAVE TIME TO BLOW YOU OUT.” I sat there stunned. I then ask her,” Can I at least blow out my own wet hair? “Kimberly Keys gives me a comb and led me across the hallway to an empty room where I BLEW OUT MY OWN HAIR. The dryer my hair becomes the more evident it looks NOTHING like what we discussed. Kimberly DID make sure SHE HAD TIME TO STOP AND TAKE MY PAYMENT. (MY MISTAKE was I tipped her.) Why? Because I am thinking she has to fix my hair. ( NO, I DID NOT ,and NEVER WOULD GO BACK). My husband came to pick me up at 6:40pm. The appointment was to cost me $130.00. Kimberly charged me $150.00! After explaining it to my husband he was upset. I consulted with some people and it was decided it was best to ask for a “full refund”. She partially refunded me at $112.00. Hence, the above truth of my visit with Kimberly Keys. As for me, I found a different talented ,humble,relaxed,hair stylist,who I love, and will be my secret.
