Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueSo, this building is a collection of salon studios, but I specifically went to Salon SLS and saw Laura Moreno.She was incredible. I went in being way overdue for a cut and style and wanted to shake things up with a shorter cut as I had really messy but straight long hair. I wanted something akin to an asymmetrical bob of sorts, and after talking with her about what I wanted and getting her expertise on what to do, we ended up doing an asymmetrical lob cut. It was astounding, I never thought my hair could look this good above shoulder length and while I was nervous about getting it all cut off, she executed it perfectly. The salon was quiet, clean, and just in general very chill. We chatted a bit about all kinds of stuff and the whole thing was done in just under an hour. She took her time and put great attention to detail with the cutting and styling and it was a nice relaxing experience. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueDo not go to Salon SLS for a balayage or babylight if you have dark hair. This is the second appointment I had with Sam. After giving her the benefit of the doubt following a mediocre first session, I left again even more disappointed, not just by the results but her customer service.My hair is streaky, brassy, and damaged. When I tried to come to a resolution with she, instead of being understanding and professional, she was degrading. In business in general, people are supposed to get used to having uncomfortable conversations with their clients sometimes. How people react to these kinds of conversations speak volumes about how they run their business. Instead of trying to speak to me professionally, she was immediately defensive and used an ad hominem approach in response to me. She refused to take ownership of her mistake and blamed my hair, when in reality it was because of her poor time management skills and her lack of knowledge working with dark hair. Because she had a client booked right after me and was running out of time, she washed the bleach out of my hair before it was ready, and at one point there were two different people working on my hair (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I felt like it was because the process was being rushed and because she couldn’t work on my hair herself).Service: BalayageDo not go to Salon SLS for a balayage or babylight if you have dark hair.
