Very disappointed in this shop. Not from the hair cut, but from the customer service. The members are unprofessional. I had been told to set up an appointment over the phone, so I tired and they never respond. So I show up in person twice, and they ignore you after having you wait over 2 hours just to laugh amongst themselves about how long you will sit there before you understand you are the root of their jokes. I am not sure what I did wrong, at first glance it seemed like a nice place but after being made a joke of 2 times in a row I decided to take my money somewhere else. What’s worse is how you can do exactly as they say to make appointments ahead of time and still be made to look foolish. They only seem to like their “regulars” who they have a relationship with. Smitty’s is historical I was first introduced to Smitty’s when I was six years old, my grandmother worked next door at Rita’s beauty salon so I would often go to see Mr Smitty & Mr Dobson to get a lollipop and a grape soda. So since it’s like home I’ve taken my sons to get there haircut. Friendly environment, where everyone knows everyone it’s like home away from home.

Hubby needed a cut and we got lucky. This place has the small town charm of the traditional barbershop complete with the trash talking and jokes like we like. It was hidden away off the main street, clean with a quirky charm that can be hard to find nowadays. Smitty was delightful and Tony, the barber did a great job. Appointments neccesay. I think we’ve found a spot!

I’m all about supporting Black owned businesses, but professionalism is important too! When I first called this shop as a brand new customer, I asked two simple questions: “Are you cash only and if yes, how much should I bring?” Their response: “I’ll take all your money…” that wasn’t my question. That was strike one. Strike two was calling in to schedule a second haircut and listening to the amount of background noise, it was unbelievable! Customers don’t want to hear that. Strike three was showing up to my second appointment to have the barber walk out and say: “I have somewhere else to be. I’ll be back at 2:30.” My appointment was at 1:30, I arrived early at 1:15. No one else was there, the shop closed. Never again! Falls Church has plenty of other options with better service and parking. Two stars only because my first haircut was decent.

I have gone to this place before and gotten decent haircuts. I went to Floyd’s looking to get again an average haircut, but walked out of there with a high and tight. Ashleigh A. Was the person that provided the service, she asked me how I wanted the haircut; I attempted to show her a picture but she quickly dismissed me without even looking at the hair cut style I wanted to get. During the haircut there was no communication at all, I guess the assumption is Hispanic customers don’t speak English? As a result, I ended up with a haircut Ashleigh decided to give me instead of the one I was hoping to get. I don’t understand the point of asking to the customer what they want when you will dismiss the customers request
