The older lady with short dark hair that was bragging about getting her skills from Barber School, needs to go back and get more knowledge of the hands on cutting of hair. It’s one thing to pass the written test; it’s another to pass the actual understanding of hands on knowledge/experience. Students should not be able to pass and be put out in the working field if they can’t cut a basic man or woman hair cut. In the past year I have not gotten one pixie hair cut that is an actual pixie cut! If you can’t cut a man’s basic hair cut….you should not say you have the experience in cutting a pixie cut. Stylist aren’t even sectioning off the hair anymore and that is exactly why they lose their pattern for an even cut. Knowledge of the hair is everything if you plan on making it in this industry. Other than that…..you should have chosen a different field. In my experience…. stylist aren’t even able to do a blowout and style. These schools are passing people who are ruining people’s hair cuts. We are the ones that have to deal with the bad cuts and the bad hair colors that are done by stylist that say they know what they are doing. Whomever owns these salons should monitor their stylist for at least a year before allowing them to be on their own, if not, this is how your company gets bad reviews and you end up going out of business. Not all customers have the money to go to another salon to get their hair cut corrected. Another thing…..such as myself today……I wasn’t left with much hair for another stylist to correct. Leave the thining shears alone…..leave the razors cutting alone……it takes months and months of hair growth to correct your poorly cut haircut!!!! The lady that cut my hair needs to be put on a one year probation period. I am mortified by the uneven cut where it is so noticable around my ears. They are completely different! I repeatedly told this lady not to cut the top part of my hair, especially that hangs towards the front of my face because I needed it for the long angle. I kept pulling it up out of the way and she yelled at me and told me to stop. I told her again….I said not to cut it. Well she did and I have one hell of a blank blank hair cut. I had been letting that part of my hair grow out due to the bad colors that had burnt my hair. Yesterday was suppose to be the final cutting of the ends so that I could go platinum. I am so upset by her actions. Do Not COMMIT to a cut or style that you know nothing about!!!!! I have attached the photos that I showed the lady. This is not the cut that she gave me. Critical: Professionalism, QualityI asked for an undercut and she assured me she knew how to do it. I chose a picture online, and she started to use a highlighter to map it out. Apparently the highlighter was barely showing up, and she decided to dig it into my scalp cutting me with the marker. Then, she said she would just free-hand..I guess that should have been my red flag. She messed up the design I chose and then made up her own. It was shaved too short, shorter than I asked for. I asked for curtain bangs and they were horribly uneven and not even actual curtain bangs. I had to trim it how I wanted it at home..I asked for an undercut and she assured me she knew how to do it.
