I usually get a haircut from the salons in Walmart and I always just walk in. However, I came in to this location and I was told by LaShundra that I needed a appointment but there was only one person in the chair and no one waiting and it wasn’t near closing. I went online to make the appointment and couldn’t. What is really going on at this location? After all the bad reviews I’ve read I’m glad she rudely sent me away. Lol

so I scheduled an appt for my son online when I showed up they looked at me like too bad we are closing in in 1 hr. Rude customer service for 21$ for a kid haircut no thx u. They did me a favor I found a better place that is cheaper and they have xbox for kids. It’s even better right across the street. Very unorganized don’t take online appts what’s the point. I’m taking my service elsewhere. If you are looking at this review do the same. Overpriced and rude that’s all i got to say.

So I’ve been a few time the manager usually does my hair her name is lashaunda I think. Now at first it was a pleasant experience. However at one point a woman came in to turn in her application and the manager asked was she vaccinated the woman said no. The manager took the application and proceeded to do my hair while taking badly about the woman bc she wasn’t vaccinated and that she will not hire her bc she’s not vaccinated. The woman came back to ask additional questions the manager still doing my hair started talking badly about the woman again saying oh naw I’m not hiring her I run stuff here and she’s to pushy for me. The other stylist answered her questions and the woman left. The manager said she’s going to throw away her application the other stylist said no don’t do that turn it in and maybe they can place her somewhere else. She then kept talking badly about her specifically bc she wasn’t vaccinated. That definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I told her vaccination is a choice and that it should be respected. She then says oh u must not be vaccinated, I said vaccinated or not I respect everyone’s choices (I am vaccinated). Fast forward a few wks ago I go in for services and the manager tells me both stylist are booked. I look down at the appointment book to see the whole page blank. I look up at her. She flips backwards to a prior date and says yeah uhhh we’re booked now I’m like that’s odd bc why u flipped the pages backwards as if I didn’t see there were no appointments on the books. I then started to look for a heat protection spray I’ve purchased from there before and she (manager) acts annoyed and says is there anything else I told her oh I’m looking for a specific product I’ve gotten here before. She says yeah we’re out of a lot of stuff so you’ll need to check back. Didn’t even ask what I was looking for. I called again a wk later bc I wanted to make sure I wasn’t crazy and the ph picked up and hung up then it just kept ringing. From my understanding they have called ID which means she doesn’t want to do my hair and that’s fine but I feel it’s due to her thinking I am not vaccinated. So I’d recommend anyone going here for employment or stylist services especially from the manager be vaccinated and wear your vaccination card on your shoulder so she can see it. Do what you will with this information but she will speak badly of clients to other clients and discriminate because of vaccination status. She’s good at what she does but definitely lacks professionalism. Not a good look for the business as a whole. I’ve been witness to her speaking poorly of other stylist as well. If the owner has seen a high turnover rate it’s most likely due to the managers unprofessional behavior.

If I could give 0 stars I would! The manager Lashaunda has been doing my hair for years, followed her from lake Worth to this location. She has always done a wonderful job and we laugh and talk the entire time. My last appt with her was in January so scheduled one for this month. I received a very rude phone call from her today saying she’s cancelling my appt because I said something offensive the last time I was there, well that NEVER happened. I was trying to let her know that she must be getting me mixed up with someone else and she would not let me talk and hung up on me and didn’t answer when I called back. She was very unprofessional, the years that she’s been doing my hair she’s NEVER spoken to me that way, we always had such a great time! Needless to say she lost a great client for something I didn’t do and I will be contacting corporate…horrible customer service…make sure you know you have the correct client before you accuse them of something!!!!!!!

I had the worse experience at this location on 1/22/22. Here’s how my day went. I booked my appointment for 5:00pm. I got to the salon at 4:50pm. the stylist was not in the salon. Another stylist was in the salon she looked at me and did not GREET ME NOT EVEN A hello. Strike #1, My stylist finally comes in and I advise her of the rude employee she says IM LYING #2 she says she called my number the prior day to confirm my appointment but my number was disconnected STRIKE #3 LIAR. she then ask me to take my scarf off in the middle of the floor. I advise her that I would take my scarf at the bowl because my HAIR IS dirty the VERY UNPROFESSIOANL CHICK says my appointment is canceled due to me not wanting to show all of wal mart my dirty hair… STAY AWAY FROM WAL MART AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS GHETTO STYLIST, I have called customer service as well. also I called the salon after my service and she declined my calls. HER NAME STARTS WITH A L I BELIEVE SHE THE ONLY MINORITY AT THE SALON YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOUR SELF.

She did a decent job. Didn’t inform me the perm I got would completely pull out when she bleached my hair. So now I have half really curly hair and half loose curls. Kind of frustrating. I also asked for my hair to be lightened but look natural. I got an ombre and had to resort to using peroxide on the rest of my hair to blend it out. She didn’t tell me it was going to be over 100 bucks and the sign said 80 or something like that. I should have just use peroxide in the first place. That’s what I get I guess. Perm turned out great until I got the bleach done. Spend hundreds of dollars to be disappointed. She told me my curls would bounce back at the bleached sections. Nope.

I’m new to Texas. I stopped in at SmartStyle Hair Salon in Keller, looking for a stylist. Their is were I meant Manager/ hairstylist Evelyn White. We started off as strangers but quickly became friends and one of the only person I trust to do my hair now. It may be difficult to understand how our hair stylist can mean so much to us with so little time we spend with them, but it’s no secret that black women have a special relationship with the person who helps maintain their look. There are certain qualities we all want our favorite hairstylist to process. Everyone Loves a hairstylist that is Knowledgeable, professional, honest, friendly, polite and patient. Women can be very indecisive (like me) when it comes to there hair. We also want someone that’s fair, respectful, a good listener someone who’s compassionate, reliable, accommodating and prompted a time conscious hairstylist. Evelyn White have all of these qualities, needless to say her Customer Service skills are Outstanding!! I wouldn’t trade her in for the world!!! I have definitely been recommending her at ALL my friends and family. I Love You Evelyn White keep up the good work.
