The lady who did my hair was so nice. She did an awesome job. I wished she would have used a curling iron instead of a straightener to curl my hair. Maybe it would have stayed longer. They need more people working there to help out. At least 1 more hair stylist as well as a receptionist. Business was busy.

I worked at a SmartStyle in Kansas for 8 years, and was the manager for 5, before we moved to Joplin. I have gone to buy product from the Joplin SmartStyle on many occasions. On my most recent trip, I went to see if they had a leave in spray that I love. Before I went in, and was in the check out line at Walmart, I could hear the stylists being very loud and screaming/laughing. As I walked in, both stylists were sitting in the back. I understand sitting, as standing all day can be very hard, and everyone deserves a break. However, I wasn’t greeted at all, nor asked if I needed help. They were yell-laughing, cussing, and overall saying very inappropriate things in their conversation. I had to say excuse me a few times before they looked up and saw me. Even then they didn’t say anything, just looked at me. I said “do you guys get to order your own product or-“ and was cut off before I was able to finish my sentence. She rudely said “If you don’t see it up there, then we don’t have it”. I understand the shortages currently, however, my question was, do they order their own product (like we did at my store after we franchised), or if product was automatically sent (like before it was franchised). I was going to ask if they were able to order the product I was looking for. I would rather drive the almost 2 hours back to my home store to get the product I’m looking for, than to EVER come back to this store. Very unprofessional, very rude.

Sara did a great job! I had a call I absoulty had to take, so this made her job way harder! I was still on call when she finished. After I shoped ,feeling my hair as I went I felt a bit more needed cut. She was awesome enough to take me back in right before closing and get it satisfactory! Thank you Sara

I went in for an overall trim. The girl kept fluffing my hair after every few cuts so it was impossible to see what my hair truly looked like. She asked if i wanted my bangs blunt cut and I specifically said no…..got blunt cut bangs! I asked for the pieces by my ears to be cut to minimize the grey…..one is at least half an inch longer than the other. I also asked that my bangs be angled in a certain way….. got bsngs cut straight across my forehead. I walked out of there and got in my car and looked in the visor…..i had the hair cut Jim Carrey wore in the movie Dumb and Dumber! Needless to say I won’t be coming back.

I have to say that while I got the hair style I wanted for the most part I was treated with disrespect and the stylist was extremely frustrating to deal with. There was no professional behavior from her. However the hair style in the end was what I asked for. So if you need your hair done and don’t mind people being rude to you then by all means check it out.
