Really it is what it is and you get what you get. Like any other strip mall hair salon, it depends on the stylist. You may get a great one, or one of those who uses more tissue than clipper guards to put on the Knicks they cut all over you. I had a not so great cut, but was taken care very well by another stylist. Really it’s 50/50. Good luck!!

I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to get there hair done. And I would recommend Skyla to do there hair. Cause she is awesome! This was done at Smart style in Shelbyville, Tn’s Walmart. Take my word for it Skyla is great. She does what you want done. She can look at a picture and do it exactly how it’s done in that picture. That’s what I did. I showed her a picture and she was able get the tones like in the picture. Thank You Skyla your the best.

I love my Hair cut I have been to other salons for my last two haircuts and not been able to get the style I explain I am looking for ( long layers , face framing with side swoop bangs) Lisa at the Shelbyville Location did that and more . She put a little extra in there to thin out the end in the back so my hair wouldn’t be weighed down as I have long hair and gave it more body . I love this cut and will go back to Lisa in the future … oh and She did my Eyebrows that look amazing. I feel great! Also sold me on a great product to make my hair shinny . Just all around a great experience .

I would actually give them ZERO stars. They don’t act like they are happy to see customers walk in. Most of the stylists have attitudes and act like they don’t want to be at work. They were even talking about issues going on inside there and whats wrong with their latest schedule. Sounds unprofessional to me. Also, I am very tender headed and I let the lady that was doing my hair know that. She pulled my hair and wasn’t gentle at all throughout my entire visit. And i was there for over 3 hours getting color in my hair. I didnt enjoy any of this experience. She had people she knew personally sitting beside and behind the entire time she was doing my hair and most of her focus was on them instead of me. When it was time for me to pay the bill it was overpriced and instead of arguing with her after i asked why it was that high and she smarted off…i just decided to pay it and make sure i write a review of my exact experience here and never come back.

I’ve been a long time customer of Chaunette’s, probably for at least 5 years now. I met her as a stylist at a salon in Murfreesboro. When she moved to Smartstyle in Shelbyville, I moved right along with her without hesitation. She’s the only stylist that has done my hair since we’ve met. We collaborate with each other on caring for and styling my hair. She does great work! I meet with her twice a month and each time, I get compliments on my hair. I recommend her to everyone that asks for a stylist. Cut, color, style, education…whatever you want or need, she’s your professional!
