Critical: ProfessionalismI was there from 1130-230pm today and there was only 1 person in front of me. The hair cut lady wouldn’t stop talking. Cut hair. That’s why you’re there. She talked and talked and talked and talked and there was only 1 person I front one me. Stupid. You lost about 3 other people that did t want to wait any longer. I never do google reviews but this made me mad enough to do it. My haircut was 10 minutes down the road and took 10 minutes to so. What a waste of my day off waiting at the Walmart hair salon. I was there from 1130-230pm today and there was only 1 person in front of me. The hair cut lady wouldn’t stop talking. Cut hair. That’s why you’re there. She talked and talked and talked and talked and there was only 1 person I front one me. Stupid. You lost about 3 other people that did t want to wait any longer. Went to the Walmart to get something. Noticed that the hair salon was open again and I thought they were all closed down. Decided to get a haircut there and was amazed at how well it came out. I can’t remember the woman’s name or did it. I think it was it started with a d or something like that and maybe Donna but wow I came out with a great haircut and all the things I needed at Walmart. My son is very particular and went to the same lady for years in the Pace store. We moved to Navarre and he tried a lady in the Navarre store and didn’t take to well with her. I called up there again and requested someone else. Mr. Marcus was very helpful and understanding when it came to my sons reservations. had the pleasure of doing business in your salon last Wednesday. I am from out of town and called at 9:00 am when the salon opened and Bonnie answered the phone and told me if I could be there in 15 minutes she could cut and color my hair. Upon my arrival, she was checking out a customer but greeted me with a very pleasant manor. Once I was in the chair, I learned she was the only hairdresser on duty because an employ had called in to say he wouldn’t be in today. What I noticed about her, she moved about with grace and made every customer feel welcomed. I learned she was a manager and covered several other shops. I was there about two hours and watched her cut hair, greet clients, answer phones and deal with a very obnoxious person and did so with ease. She never let on she was handling the day to day operations by herself. I also learned her last day would be on Friday. I questioned her and asked her why and she was leaving and she said for a better salary. I asked her if this company had asked her to stay. She told me the company did ask what could they do to get her to stay? Bonnie said she asked the company to match what the new company would be paying her and she would stay. I am in management, so I know what it takes to replace a good employ. Since she took over her position she said she increased the revenue and has a great clientele. She told me she was with your company for a couple of years and really surprised me that you would not take the time to evaluate her worth. My observation for the two hours I was in the shop, I could tell she was dedicated to your company and her clients. When she told two young men she was leaving on Friday you could tell they weren’t happy but wished her well and one got her number so he could follow her. I just thought you should know, Bonnie is an excellent hairdresser and she handled her job with such grace on the day I was in the shop. Wishing the best of luck Bonnie!!

Critical: Professionalism, QualityMarkus gave me perm June 9th it was supposed to be a piggyback wrap but wasn’t any piggyback wrap I’ve ever seen. It left me with strange curl patterns that I noticed right away but also spots where my hair was burned down to the scalp which I noticed later at home.This was from improper wrapping and the elastics being hooked improperly. When I called to let them know I was told he would have to evaluate it. Of course he claimed to feel and see nothing but one of the other stylist checked my hair and said she could, so he told me to come back June 18th to sign a liability form and get a refund. That should have been it but at the salon today, trying to get my refund he was totally unprofessional, unapologetic, called me liar to my face. Accused me of getting perms that are good and demanding my money back regularly. He was very childish about it all continuing the to taunt me as I waited for my refund. Also told me in order to get the refund I was no longer allowed in the salon. As if I would want to come back. Markus really deserves to be fired for his lack of skills and treatment of customers. Marcus cut my hair and he is absolutely fabulous. I am a retired barber myself and he did an excellent job. He is a very nice person with a wonderful personality. I will be going back to him. I have lived here for 4 1/2 years and he is the best I’ve had do my hair.

Is it possible to get a great haircut & color at SmartStyle inside a “big box” store??? YES, yes, yes!!!–especially if you’re in Navarre, FL. Kristyn took my bad haircut (from a local foo-foo salon a month earlier) and worked miracles! This is actually the best haircut I’ve had in months! She also did a great job with adding low lights to my aging hair. And to top it off, I didn’t have to take out a loan for the investment; I spent 1/3 of the amount that the last cut/color! Do not hesitate to book an appointment at SmartStyle, Navarre; you’re find a friendly, competent staff of stylists. I’d recommend them to anyone and give them an A+++ rating!

Love my new summer cut, it is so cool and so easy. Will return again. My usual stylist was busy but I took a chance and couldn’t have been more happy, they are both nice, and make sure I look great, so they have several talented stylists, and with my busy schedule I like that it’s open on Sunday.
