Went in to get the back of my hair tapered. I had washed it myself and put a rinse in my hair that morning. I told the stylist that I had already washed my hair. I just needed the back tapered, then molded and style. She charged me $60. Is that the normal price.? Hairstyling

Nobody did my hair but when I called to get a price I was quoted $110 over the phone for a double process dye job. When I got there she said she didn’t know how much it was. She said it was 100 something. Mind you my hair is very short, and I wanted to go from black to red. The lady here was cool just the price wasn’t. I went to another smart style salon in Lithonia and got it for $85.

Let me start by saying, I have had some AMAZING stylist touch my hair at this salon. There was a girl by the name of Eboni. She helped restore my hair and bring it back to health. I struggle with dry damaged 4c hair and I’m often time way to busy to tend to my hair needs so I come here to get it back healthy and wear protective style throughout the year. However I do not straighten my own hair because of my struggle I have with heat damage in years past. With that being said SHIRLEY who is a very sweet women and kind, has damaged my hair on more then one occasion. When I walk in most times she is the only one there and always available but she always puts to much heat on my hair. She goes over and over and over my hair with heat saying she just wants it to be as straight as possible. I do think maybe some updated training would get her in the right place. She did my friends mothers hair and her mom has short tamper cut hair that only require a curl and bump but it seem she applies that to everyone hair. As a young lady I want my hair to move and to be youthful but she bumps my hair so much I end up looking like Charlie in the chocolate factory. She put so much heat that by the time I wait a week or two to wash it, it sadly never goes back to its natural curl rather it stay kinky and straight in water. My friend use to come here as well and has had the same issues with her. This is not me trying to bash Shirley or damage her business. This is just a warning to all of the women who don’t want to here “I just want to get it as straight as possible” while she heats the curl permentaly away and greases you down enough to have you sliding out the Walmart doors by you hair. I love this salon but I’m scared to go back because she is alway on that right side chair right next to the enterance ready to put you in her chair. As it should be but we must get some updated training because she did my hair 3 times and since the last my hair has been the worse it’s ever been. Stupid of me to keep trying but some how I keep thinking maybe she’ll get it right this time, maybe it’s just me and the after care, maybe someone else will be there and I won’t have to hurt her feelings by requesting she not touch my hair and have someone else do it. It really sucks for this place to be so great and to only encounter her while all of my favorite stylist leave.

Management thinks its appropriate to throw a dirty towel over a child’s face will said child is nursing. Then makes racist comments to the mother. Claims to be a cop but apparently doesn’t know the law. Breastfeeding is natural and this establishment is a disgrace.
