Critical: Cleanliness, QualityThis was the worst haircut I have ever had. I’m not usually one to leave reviews, good or bad, but I have cut my own hair better than this. I wanted to cut my hair for summer so I booked with Cat since I heard that she was great. When I walked back there was hair already all over the chair and the station in general was dirty. She did not pull any hair from behind my ears or that may have been stuck behind my mask loops. She didn’t even take her time with the cut. It was like she was just chopping hair off thinking I wouldn’t notice that it wasn’t straight. I have wavy/curly hair and she did not wet it enough to cut it properly to ensure that if I wanted to wear it straight that I could, and she didn’t ask if I wear my hair straight. I have to go get my hair fixed at another salon because of how bad it is. I didn’t ask for layers but somehow ended up with them at the very bottom, and that definitely doesn’t look right on short hair. I gave 2 stars because she was nice, but I wish I had just gone to another salon in the first place. This was the worst haircut I have ever had. I’m not usually one to leave reviews, good or bad, but I have cut my own hair better than this. I wanted to cut my hair for summer so I booked with Cat since I heard that she was great. When I walked back there was hair already all over the chair and the station in general was dirty. I have to note that when I contacted Melissa for an appointment, she was able to work with me so that I could get my appointment on a day that worked best with my hectic schedule. When I arrived, Melissa was taking care of another customer, but greeted me and invited me to sit at her station. When she came over, she thoroughly looked over my hair and suggested highlight colors (I was there for a root and highlight touch up). She was respectful and attentive during my entire visit. It was obvious that she was busy during my visit but always made it a point to check on me. Once she rinsed me, she paid extra attention to how I style my hair and made sure my bang length was what I asked for. I’ve been a loyal client to this salon for over a year and have never been disappointed by services there. Melissa did such a fantastic job that I’ve recommended her to my coworkers that have also been coming to this salon for years. My regular stylist left Smart Styles and before she left, she referred me to Melissa. I have to note that when I contacted Melissa for an appointment, she was able to work with me so that I could get my appointment on a day that worked best with my hectic schedule. Positive: QualityI took my 3 year old son to get a hair cut on Saturday. The wait was a little long but it was well worth it! It was the best hair cut he has ever gotten. The girl that cut it was so good with him and made him laugh the whole time! She was very fast and did an awesome job!! This is the first haircut that he has not cried while getting!! I took my 3 year old son to get a hair cut on Saturday. The wait was a little long but it was well worth it! It was the best hair cut he has ever gotten. The girl that cut it was so good with him and made him laugh the whole time! She was very fast and did an awesome job!! This is the first haircut that he has not cried while getting!! We will definitely be back to hopefully get the same girl to do his hair again!

He didn’t do any of those things and trimmed it way too short and I asked them not to cut it that short before we started. Color was good but the cut was terrible. I asked them to thin it out and add layers bc my hair type can’t be one length otherwise it’s frizzy. The gentleman with the raspy voice was the only one working and was with someone so we waited. We weren’t acknowledged, but that’s fine. When he was done with his customer my husband went to go first and the guy had TWO OTHER CLIENTS HAIR PILED ALL AROUND AND UNDER THE CHAIR (one gray and one brown). My husband paused and was too nice to not say something because to him he needed one badly and we came all the way from Cherokee. I gasped and immediately said I was going shopping and quite frankly ran out of there with my jaw agape. He did do a good buzz cut, but I cannot unsee the gross hygiene this place allows itself to be. I wouldn’t touch this place with a ten foot pole. I was bummed too, I still haven’t gotten a haircut, but it’s seared into my brain. We both gossiped about it in shock for half the evening. My husband called ahead to see if we could get squeezed in. We got there about 515pm. The gentleman with the raspy voice was the only one working and was with someone so we waited. We weren’t acknowledged, but that’s fine. When he was done with his customer my husband went to go first and the guy had TWO OTHER CLIENTS HAIR PILED ALL AROUND AND UNDER THE CHAIR (one gray and one brown).
