I see all this hate for the manager shirley. They went after her in ways no one deserves to be gone after, bringing personal life into it. Shirley always maintains professionalisms and is bursting with personality. She shows enthusiasm, care, and a touch of flare with every single client. Staff is rude and uneducated while thinking they know everything. I’d rank my haircut in the top 3 worst haircuts I’ve ever received. No attention to detail. I could probably cut my hair better with a pair of dull scissors. And I get a skin fade! Disappointed to say the least. I will not be back.

Please be careful when choosing this place for your hair care. I went and they gave me a perm that was curly on one side and straight on the other. I paid 80 dollars for it. They made me drive down to show them. They offered a cut which had been done already and they offered to relax it which another stylist told me would have left me bald. Once they saw what had been done they said they would they would have the manager call me. It took many tries of me calling them to get ahold of her but she never seemed to be there until I complained on their website. She finally said I would receive a refund within a couple weeks. It never came. I called them every week and still nothing so I complained again on their site. I got an email from the company saying I will get my refund from them within a week. I got the check and it was only for 55 dollars. I guess they dont refund the price of any product used on the hair or tips which I gave under the impression that my hair would look better. This whole experience has taken around 4 months and every turn they were unreliable. I will never go back and the stuff they put you through if they mess up is not worth the chance.

I went in to get length taken off my hair. The stylist said she was going to layer just the very front so it flowed together. She chopped my whole entire head until there was basically nothing left. It was above my shoulders and had so many layers it was horrible!! I also told her my hair was color treated (red). She did not use color safe shampoo and it completely washed my hair out. Also, the short layered man cut (basically) is the only style she can do. I have seen 4 other girls come out with the same awful hair cut. I worked at the Walmart this salon is in. In case you were wondering how I saw the girls. This place is disgusting!!!

Unfortunately I can’t give a negative rating. I went into Smartstyle to get a spiral perm. My hair was VERY healthy. First, she rolled it wrong. Second, she didn’t set a timer, she just watched the clock on the wall. Third, she stayed on her phone the whole time. Fourth, she went to the back to get Christmas decorations. Yes, they refunded my money for the perm but I spent over $600 and 7 times cutting it short to get my hair back to normal. A year later I go back to a Smartstyle in Gonzales, Louisiana just to get a hair cut and I walk out looking like a man. Hair was cut shorter than my husbands. We will NEVER EVER step foot back into ANY SmartStyle.

The ladies here are great. They are so patient with my kids including my 2 year old. My only complaint is there seems to be high turnover or some problem with staffing because I rarely see the same people there.
