They wouldn’t help my older female roommate with her hair. She needed help to fix her hair, she was willing to pay extra. They were nice to her however I feel they are supposed to be. I do feel they disrespected her quietly without saying. She did finally find another place nearby that was willing to help her without any problem. I will never go to SmartStyle again, nor will my roommate. I strongly feel that some of the younger generation has no compression of one needing extra help. Not all of them, just some. They lost out on one gracious tip. I do apologize for leaving such a bad review! I’m just saying!

Anyways, I thought the place was nice and clean but absolutely no personality in the place at all. It was so silent and cold in there. I just am totally not used to that because Hairspray Salon, where I normally have my son’s hair cut, is so warm, inviting and full of personality. On to the haircut: She took out buzzers and started to buzz cut my 5 year old son’s hair. I was like wait a minute my bestfriend scissor cuts my son’s head. She was like the whole thing? I said yes the whole thing and she uses trimmers at the neckline and around the ears. So annoyed, she started to scissor cut his hair, poorly. I was so dissatisfied with my son’s haircut. It was choppy and short in places it didn’t need to be and thinned out way too much. It didn’t look as bad when I went home and put some product in his hair but I have never been more disappointed in a hair cut in my life. I would never go back here. Anyways, I thought the place was nice and clean but absolutely no personality in the place at all. It was so silent and cold in there. Absolutely amazing. The staff was friendly. I was very nervous because I had bleached my hair a lot and I knew I had to get a good amount cut off and my stylist (Lucy) made me very comfortable and did a fantastic job. Will definitely continue seeing her!

I stood at the counter for at least 3 minutes before the girl even greeted me because she was busy talking to another stylist about personal matters. When she asked if I wanted a shampoo and I responded yes she said, well it costs extra. I showed her a picture of the very easy cut I wanted…just below the shoulders and layered and she literally cut all my hair off up to above my shoulders. It’s nothing like I wanted and I hate it. I have natural curly hair and Jordon cut my hair. I stopped her twice because she was cutting my hair not how it’s usually cut. I live in Moorefield and I get my hair cut here often. I’ve always been pleased until this afternoon. When I told her the way it’s usually cut she said well that’s a preference for the one cutting. I left, but dissatisfied. My hair is cut straight to my head and curls aren’t curly how it’s suppose to be.
