My daughter knew she wanted the side of her head shaved, but had no clue beyond that. My elder child was terrified of having their hair cut at all, not wanting to appear more gendered. Makayla took the time to talk to both of them, help them figure out what they wanted, gave them great cuts, and then taught them how to style the hair. She also did a great job with my husband’s cut, working with his challenging cowlicks so he doesn’t have any weird tufts sticking up.
