Best barber ever! Dave is not just an incredibly talented barber, with his one chair shop just up from the Sheriff’s office and at least five generations of Athens history, Dave is a wealth of information. Local tales and points of fact all merge together in an experience you leave feeling lucky to have witnessed. Where can I get this fixed, find the best fishing hole, best produce or best pie, all topics are open for discussion while I leave with the best haircut my mane will allow and rejuvenated with a greater sense of the community I live in.

Dave is by far the best barber in Athens. I tried every barbershop in the area and I’ve had nothing but great cuts from him. Dave is very personable an takes pride in each of his cuts. I’m sad I’m graduating, Because it’ll be hard to find a barber as good as Dave.

Want old school haircuts? See Dave Smart! Groovy little shop with one active chair (appointments recommended). He is excellent at returning calls and I’ve never not got in in less than 24 hours. Cars and machines are the order of the day for conversation with Dave, so you either engage on that or sit back and learn (ask him to recommend his favorite hybrid…LOL). He is also a great resource on people in the area who do car stuff for less than the dealers. Oh, and he cuts my thick mop of hair with 3 cowlicks great every time; he listens to what I ask for and does just that. If I just want a trim, that’s what I get–no scalp job. If I “want my money’s worth”, he’ll take it off as short as requested. Recommended.
