Brett has been my regular Barber for around 10 years now (give or take), I occasionally change my hair style and he always knocks it out of the park. There’s a lot cool knickknacks and memorabilia all over the shop that give that old school Barbershop feeling, while still maintaining a clean, blue collar, respectful family friendly environment.

I’ve never been to Slicks, but I lived there for the 9 years of my life. My family moved after selling their property to ( I want to say the Davenports) the current owners. I remember we were given an organ as part of their down payment. We loved that organ, we loved it a lot. I love what you guys have done with it. I have met a few people that say they have been to Slick’s. I can never resist telling them I grew up in that very house. I have so many good memories in that home. We used to watch fireworks from the patio in back. My step dad used to drive his race car down the ally every Saturday night to the fair grounds. Hard wood floors, the built in wood china hutch, my moms garden, walking to school with out supervision, the closeness of the community. I loved summer break, there was always something for us kids to do at the city park at the end of 10th street. Good times. I remember around Christmas time one year. My youngest brother opened a gift for my mom, it was a new lighter. He took that lighter and accidentally started my sisters bed on fire and burned down the front of our house. It was rebuilt and that’s when the odd shaped seating window was built. Same brother, turned on the bathroom sink in the middle of the night flooding the entire house ruining all the wood flooring. It was all warped. My mom was not too happy about that little stunt.

If you have to wait for your turn there is some great memorabilia to look at while you’re there. We highly recommend Slicks to all families/ all ages.

Always great service from friendly barbers. The best part is the straight razor finish. They’ve bumped up their rates a little, but they’re still lower than any other place. You get professional barber service for less than you would pay at any cookie cutter shop that ends in – Cuts or- Clips.
