Came to Slek Styling Bar with my two daughters for a 5pm appointment and was never acknowledged. It’s so sad that a black owned business lack customer service and time management . I’ve never see stylists so disrespectful in my life . At 6:15 pm I was still there waiting to get my daughter hair done. I decided to walk out. The male stylist that identifies with pronouns she/her disrespectfully said “okay bye” , “happy holidays, sike”! Is this how a black-owned salon treat their customers? Would never see my face it there again and I refuse to give my hard earned money to businesses that disrespect their customers.

Customer service was a bit lacking. The stylist was not too friendly. He did a great job delivering a silk press however I was charged for every little detail from deep conditioner which was an extra $34 to detangling etc.! I was shocked I wasn’t charged for breathing! I was charged $190 in total, not sure it was worth it.

Friendly customer service and chill environment. Came in for some micro links and left feeling easy breazy and ready to step back out into the world. Marilyn my hairdresser was attentive and explained what she was doing as well as how to maintain both my hair and extensions. I’ll definitely be going back. Hair extensions

The service is always professional and you walk in the door ready for your appointment, you walk out the door looking like you have another type of appointment lol or meeting , party, you just want to go out and celebrate your new look . The staff is friendly and the customer experience is always pleasant. I LOVE IT WHEN the owner supports her team by taking the best pictures of their staff work . Once that ring light come out you know your hair is fire and you want to go out for cocktail after . They made my broken self feel so good I wanted to go out and hop to the beat . SENTORIA and Marylan are a great team together thanks for mini photo shoot and my hair still looks amazing . The whole team there is talented and welcoming see for yourself. So happy I found a place i can trust with my type of hair . I haven’t had a permanent in 4 years

I had rameena my first time and she was amazing my hair came out great but when I came for a second cut she couldn’t make it and I had to go to Malik which was a huge mistake. He cut all of my hair off on the sides and didn’t know how to do the design I wanted but still proceeded to try and failed horribly. He also didn’t put rods in my hair when I told him that was specifically what I wanted and instead put twist in them. Wont be going back since I belobe rameena left anyway.

I love this salon, it is clean, the music they play sets a good vibe and it is easy to book appointments and they adhere to the time of your appointment unlike some places. I usually get my hair blown out & silk pressed. Setoria & Malik have both done my hair and they’re both amazing hair stylists who take care of the health of your hair and scalp. The only thing I would recommend to Slek is posting a chart with pricing for add-on services. I always get add-on services but some of the add-ons are things that seem like it would come with the style for example: deep conditioning.

I love this salon its located in a nice area in south orange. the staff is very nice. The stylist me and my daughter go to all the time for silk press is malik and for braids my daughter goes to grace, she does nice braids with weave or no weave. Whenever we go some where we get alot of compliments on our hair! ❤️

My hair cut was nice. The end result was nice but I came in spending more than what I initially wanted and wasn’t asked if I wanted to do any ad ons (like deep conditioning, treatments, etc). I should be informed before hand of any prices being added on that I don’t know about. Hairstyling
