Critical: QualityTerrible and disappointing experience, I regret bringing them my business and the only confort I have is that my hair will grow again.After 3 months of not cutting my hair, I decided to get a hair cut yesterday (7/31/202). My usual barber had closed because of the pandemic so I decided to give SOHB a chance – I FIRMLY REGRET this decision.I HAD long hair and asked the barber to blend my sides and back and NOT to take much of the top – I told her I liked my long hair the way it is and just to give it some shape.This barber messed my hair up so badly to the point she had to go and get help from another barber while I was calming myself down with deep breathing to not snap!The barber that came to help, told her in front of me, that “they had already ‘practiced’ that and they will continue to practice next Monday! And not to go too crazy on the blending!”I understand people can make mistakes but I gave them my business and they lost my trust, they did not even give me the courtesy of the notifying me that she is inexperienced and “if I give my consent for her to cut my hair” – I would have said no from the start.She knew she messed up so badly she could not even look straight to my eyes while she was charging me $25 for messing my hair up.I do not write bad reviews but today after I got out of the shower and looked at the mirror I got really upset. I will be uploading pictures if I can.If your experience is different from mine, congrats. This is my experience, even if they ask me to give them a shot again, I will not. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueUPDATE: After multiple visits, Jackie is the ONLY one I trust with a straight razor! Plus the atmosphere of the shop is so welcoming and not overly macho like other barber shops…I always look forward to my appointments!Jackie is fantastic! I’d been wanting to try a straight razor head shave for the longest time and she nailed it! She has her own private room which further enhances the experience, we always have a great chat, and there’s always awesome music playing! The shop is kept very clean and sanitary (even the bathroom) and all the right precautionary measures are being taken in light of the pandemic. Prices are very reasonable and very much worth the train ride from the city, even if I have to arrive an hour and a half early and wait another hour and a half for my train back home!Service: Head shaveUPDATE: After multiple visits, Jackie is the ONLY one I trust with a straight razor! She has come in early, stayed late and even popped in on her off days just to work around our scheduling. Her pricing is more than fair and she always has a tendency to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. The shop itself has a sweet decor to it and has always been top notch with cleanliness.
