Van and her husband are the best! I came from Dallas looking for a place that would do great nails and make them last. The first place I tried Rosie’s nails, ( bc star was closed that day)my nails cracked and broke within 4 days… Discouraged I went to Star to give it a try. Not only did Van talk to me the whole time she smiled so much and told me she would take care of me from now on. She explained the shaping she did and how my nails would last this time. For design I showed them a picture and her and Jasmine did an outstanding job. Its been almost a week my nails are intact down to every detail. I will be back this is my new nail home. These people have perfected the art of scamming. I wanted to like this place so bad, after having been to this place many times over the course of like 2 years. I even followed them to their new location (where they are located now) and since then, they have began to scam customers out of money by charging for services never received. The first time they scammed me, I came in and got only my nails done. I came into the shop with my toes painted already and when it was time to pay, the lady charged me for my hands and feet knowing she never even touched my feet. So I tried to let that incident go, as I still wanted to like the place. However, most recently I went there to get my nails done again, and again, no service to my feet. When it was time to pay, the young girl told me a total again for a service that I did not get. I questioned it, and she begin to pretend to not speak English as if I had forgotten the entire 30 minute conversation we had just had while doing my nails. So while she pretended to not understand English, she kept telling me that the price of my service changed. I told her to show me on the price list on the wall, where that change was. She could not justify it, because the price of my service was still what I intended to pay as always. So she stood there looking helpless and then her co-worker stepped in and said “we have to give you money back” and reached in the drawer to hand me cash back. Then the young girl had the nerve to ask me for a tip before I left. I told her “no because you already tried to steal it.” They are becoming scam artists and customers should be aware of paying for their services with any type of cards. If I decide to return, in between finding a new nail salon, I will give them cash only and record my entire interaction. These people do nice work, but how can they expect to keep clients with those kind of scammy shenanigans. David and Van should be ashamed of themselves. Doing too much to make a buck. Smart business owners wouldn’t need to take that route. Period!

The gel on my nails has air bubbles underneath and is chipping right off less than 12 hours after leaving the shop. Ive never had a gel manicure fall apart so quickly or look this bad. Apart from that, Van, the nail tech was rushing back and forth trying to work multiple stations at once.
