Very unprofessional. They were supposed to be there for my daughters 8:00 appointment but wasn’t. Not only did we wait 45 minutes for someone to come, but they also went up on the price. This is the last time. If you want your hair braided go somewhere else, they really shouldn’t even get 1 star.

Critical: QualityI usually do my own wig braids but I recently got long full set and I needed someone to do it. The owner (senegalese women) called me back and told me she had someone for me. When I arrived the braider (woman from Angola) was heavy handed. after the first braid I told it it was too tight and did not mind or care if the braids were loose. although she agreed she continued to braid my hair like she didn’t hear the instruction. she literally braided my thoughts. my braids were so tight I can taste the pain. I’ve never written a salon review before but instructions are given for a reason. my hair always fall out if it is too tight and giving you instructions isn’t undermining your work but trying to insure my follicles do not get damaged. I haven’t been to the shop in years and this was just another reminder to never return. please be tentative and mindful to instructions. there is a reason for it. Great experience. High quality professional braiders. Good shop environment, even meet customers that have been coming there for years. I’m so pleased with my box braids and they will definitely be my go to! It even took less time than I expected and they superseded my expectations.

I really wanted to write a fabulous review to boost this business as they’re local and are run by hard-working and generally nice women from West Africa. Unfortunately I can’t. I had box braids done there a week ago. There is definitely a cultural difference in that when you walk in there is a lot of silence and when you say you called ahead of time (days) they just look at you. They schedule verbally with nothing written down and there is one woman who dictates the schedule and the stylists don’t know until you show up. However they accept walk ins and will fit you in as I watched multiple people show up and seated to get hair done which is rare for a braiding salon. I asked for box braids and showed a couple pictures of what I wanted and they began braiding pretty within 5 minutes of me getting there which was nice

Critical: Professionalism, QualityMy experience was TERRIBLE! Not only did I pay $200 for box braids, it wasn’t even done neatly! It looked bad enough for me to take down the same night! Literally called in to work the next day because it Was that bad. She kept stopping, didn’t ask if I liked it, and had her daughter ( who was annoyed at the fact that she even Had to) braiding the ends. It was terrible and they’ll never get my business again. My experience was TERRIBLE! Not only did I pay $200 for box braids, it wasn’t even done neatly! Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI had medium box braids done on 2/28/20 roughly . I absolutely loved my braids although they were very very tight I had no idea the damage they would do over time . I quickly found out . I lost at least 8 braids in the first week; edge braids that caused me numerous bald spots on the front of my head . I decided to take down the rest of the braids on my edges that I could tell were on their way out and discovered that these braids have caused me tension alopecia. I have so many bald spots on the front of my head with no hair there at all . I cried and cried . I have natural hair and my hair was flourishing beautifully. I regret getting these braids every day . I’ll NEVER go back here . They have no concern for your hair at all and it shows .I had medium box braids done on 2/28/20 roughly . Horrible attitudes & horrible service! I got my hair braided 7/24/19 and I’m taking my hair down today 8/1/19 due to a bald spot from too much tension!! Friday 7/26/19 I called and told them about the pain I was in. I told them my scalp was burning, and it’s RAW. I asked the lady who always answers the phone (I guess she speaks the best English) if I can come up to the shop so they can look at my scalp and give me suggestions. Her response was “did you put hair spray on it there’s nothing we can do” .. I then explained to her all of the things I did to my hair to soothe the pain and she continued to say there’s nothing we can do. Well I spent $160 of my money and 4 hours of my time to only have braids in for 8 days. Just because they don’t care about their hair doesn’t mean everyone else is like that. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. I wish I can say what I want on here but please if you like your hair DONT GO TO THESE AFRICANS

The negative reviews seem to be stemmed from people with different expectations. Maybe because I have lived abroad I see things different.. nevertheless, great atmosphere, lots of laughing, and they fulfilled my odd request of getting cornrows. They weren’t even gonna have me pay because they knew I was going to removed them within a couple days hahaha.

Honestly it wasn’t worth the cost because of poor quality I had to go back and get the front of my hair redid. My real hair was sticking out of the box braids horribly and they felt the need to just cut it off in order to resolve it (it was at least a inch of hair once stretched) overtime it has gotten worse only being a couple of weeks. They are extremely careless with natural hair they were basically ripping through my hair. It was just a bad experience I felt uncomfortable because once I went back I felt tension through their Swahili/Afroasiatic language through facial expressions and body language plus they are working from their house right now which was crowded and over scheduled I had to wait about an hour.

If I could post fewer stars, I would. I’ve never dealt with people so grossly unprofessional in my life. None of these women care the least little bit about your hair, they will talk about you in your face in French and they will give you a style that will last less than a month just so that they can take your money. If you have natural hair, be ready for them to make disgusting comments about it and for them to tell you that “Your hair is too hard to work with.” It shouldn’t be that hard to work with when I’m paying you $200 cash. Spend your money elsewhere.
