Critical: ProfessionalismI went to Sisters Hair Salon last Wednesday, September 29, 2021 after reading all the positive reviews online. Unfortunately, I will not be giving a good review and I want to explain why. I hadn’t had my hair cut since June of 2020 when I donated 6 inches for cancer. I am an ovarian cancer survivor and was finally ready to donate some of my hair to help others. I don’t regret my decision except it wasn’t styled the way I wanted so I decided to just let it grow which brings me to Sept 29, 2021 when I came thru the door to Sisters Salon. I will admit I was very nervous getting my haircut again. Also I must add that I went to a couple other salons to try and fix what the 1st hairdresser messed up on. I don’t think I’m asking for much to have an even cut all the way around my head. No angles or layers just straight across but I was left with one side longer than the other. I confided in Paula the owner of the salon and the woman that cut my hair which I have decided not to mention her name in this review about my past experiences. I was very specific in what I wanted an even haircut all one length and that is not what I got once again. Now the left side is longer than the right despite Paula saying otherwise and the picture that was taken. I know what I see in the mirror. I went to this salon in good faith and hoping for a great experience but that’s not what happened and I’m left with a cut that’s not even and I’m now out 54 dollars. I asked the owner for a refund and she was combative and reluctant but eventually agreed. She did offer me to come back to try and fix it but I declined. If it wasn’t done right the 1st time I didn’t want to risk going back and having it worse and losing more length. Paula rudely hung up on me last Thursday but said I’d get a refund. Then I received a call from the manager who verified my address to send me out a check. Well I never received the check so I inquired about it thru an email and got a nasty reply saying that I will not be getting a refund after all and made false accusations about my intentions. Plus the owner took everything I confided in her regarding my past haircuts and used it against me which is totally unacceptable and unprofessional and I am absolutely horrified and very upset with this whole situation. At the very least I should still get my money back. Its not like I waited weeks to complain about this it was the very next day. A reasonable and respectful owner should refund a client if they are not satisfied or happy with the services provided and that’s exactly what happened with me. I will be looking into my legal rights regarding this matter which has caused me unnecessary grief, stress and anxiety. It’s just not right and I felt compelled to share my own personal experience at Sisters Hair Salon.
