Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI got a “consultation” with Theo Garfield…. it was about 2 minutes and consisted of him asking what I use on my hair. He left me under the dryer for almost 40 minutes, he did not have the proper tools to deal with my hair type. The way he detangled my natural hair was deplorable. No way he’s trained or educated anyone about hair. He was rude, rush job, the style is mediocre at best. I got a “consultation” with Theo Garfield…. it was about 2 minutes and consisted of him asking what I use on my hair. He left me under the dryer for almost 40 minutes, he did not have the proper tools to deal with my hair type. The way he detangled my natural hair was deplorable. Critical: PunctualityI called this shop and spoke to the owner at 9 am ! She scheduled me for an appointment at 2pm….I asked her how long the process would take and I was told it wouuld be about 2 hours total ! I rushed to be there on time only to wait an hour for her to start. After being there for 3plus hours I finally ran out of patience and left the shop with my hair wet. I was there 3 plus hours and only received a shampoo! I came for a press and after three hours I was sitting under the hair dryer while everyone who came in after me was serviced ahead of me. I’m very upset to have wasted my Friday afternoon at this shop!Save your money for someone who cares about your time !Next time don’t over book and don’t play with people’s time ! Came to Theo Garfield for free consultation. My hair is in deplorable condition no edges and hair starting 3 inches back from hairline broken off hair…his consultation was a dissertation on his personal work history and the black hair industry .. I agreed to deep condition blow dry and style…he did a silk press with a flat iron starting pin curls and was going to show me how to bobby pin them i began to cry he changed to a wrap as hair already going back to its natural state i was so emotional end result left in tears…I KNOW MY ERROR I SHOULD NOT HAVE PAID. I tried to resolve today by calling the shop he wasn’t in an I requested a manager. I was speaking to the owner who was pleasant and I explained and she stated she had heard about my upset but i should not have paid if I was unhappy and she could do nothing two days later..She explained he was an independent contractor who just rented a booth. She gave me the personal # for him. I called and identified myself and started talking he told me to hold on several times and the call ended. I called back and all the gentlemen from Saturday was gone. He stated I had a consult I agreed and he did what he could based on what he had to work with and he could only refund 20.00 in 7 days and hung up. I put this on my Facebook page and numerous people were already aware of this man saying he works out of his garage in the spring valley area…Many had good things to say about the owner and were surprised nothing further could be done. This is a very costly lesson for me. I have not been in a hair salon in 10 years and clearly there are things i assumed that made me STUPID DUMMY of the day. The most important things I learned was ask more questions get more than one opinion. That an independent contractor is just that and its cut throat out here. MY 80.00 lesson.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON AND ESPECIALLY NOT TO CHATNEY! She put a cap on my head and when I took it out I had a dent and a bald spot! When I told her about it she said she had nothing to do with it and that I should have taken it out sooner. I had the style in less than 2 months. She is always late and even called my phone to TRY and intimidate me when someone in her shop told her I was complaining about her being late! PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS WOMAN PLAY IN YOUR HEAD!!!
