Went to Shear fire to get my hair bleached from a dark brown to a very light blonde. The hair stylist did a great job of making sure the color was even throughout and really seemed like she cared about the quality her work. The only reason I’m giving them a 4 star rating instead of 5 was because after we were finished the hairstylist told me I need to style my hair or get it cut different because she said the way my hair looked did not compliment my face shape at all. I understand that she’s a professional but saying that just seemed a bit rude and kinda rubbed me the wrong way…other than that I’m very satisfied with how my hair turned out

For over a year, the phone never works. It rings once, clicks and the hangs up. I tried to go to their website to book, but the site no longer exists. Sent a Facebook DM and was able to schedule an appointment. Showed up for my appointment on time. Six minutes later some acknowledged my presence and then said my stylist was not there, but she knows about the appointment. After 17 minutes I left and went to Blenders of Hair. In the chair now. I moved to AK in 2019 and loved Shear Fire. We were on the family plan, always full of stylist and they did a great job. Sad

Made an appointment to get an A-line only to find out the students weren’t allowed to do that cut. Tried to get in with a “professional” and was told they are too busy putting up halloween decorations to see customers. I wasn’t asked over the phone when I made the appointment what kind of cut I wanted so how would I know that your students aren’t allowed to do that cut? Loved them in the past but this is plain unprofessional. If you make an appointment make sure you do all the pre-work for them because the owner can’t take the time to properly train the students.

Very mixed review. The owner, Jana, did an amazing job on my hair for my wedding. Went back for another updo for a second photo shoot and was given a different stylist. She said she was “surprised they booked her an updo” which did not inspire a lot of confidence. The end result looked nothing like what I asked for. Jana ended up stepping in in the last minute and fixing it because I needed to leave. It looked good but barely held up through the photo shoot because it was not secured enough. Pleased with my first experience, extremely disappointed with the second.

Went in for just a walk-in haircut and bang trim. I believe magnolia? did my hair. I loved her and her attitude shes so happy and friendly. I love my hair and the atmosphere of this place. Will definitely be returning in the future.

After over a week of having an appointment scheduled they called and spontaneously canceled on us on the day of an event where my daughter needed to have her hair done, leaving us in the lurch and no other appointments available and with no real explanation. Lack of professionalism = will recommend to use someone else. Hairstyling

I went in for my first major haircut, cutting it SHORT. Megan was so sweet and great to talk to, she was engaged and attentive, over all a very enjoyable experience. She did a fantastic job with my hair, I couldn’t have been more pleased I don’t think. AND! it hardly cost me a thing! I ended up giving her a 100% tip, that’s how inexpensive it was. I will definitely be returning when I’m in town.
