Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueI asked for a French manicure with a very simple design, to which I was told that the design was too complicated and they didn’t have the tools for it. All the design required was drawing lines across the nail bed, but I decided to let it go because I was already sat down and the nail tech doing my manicure was really nice. She then proceeded to start painting my nails. This was after barely performing the standard manicure procedure which includes taking care of the client’s cuticles. She very briefly and haphazardly filed my nails. They were filed out of shape, which I didn’t notice until I after left the salon. The tools she used were unsanitary and were pulled out of a plastic bag; they seemed very dirty and not sterilized. I didn’t feel comfortable saying anything because I feel like this isn’t something a client should have to bring up. Already being irritated at and disappointed for not being able to get the nail design I wanted, I proceeded to just go for the standard French manicure. I was excited when they were getting done until I walked out of the salon and realized that the tips were uneven, not just between different fingers but also between both hands. Moreover, some of the nail polish is already chipping away, after only three days of having my nails done. Which tells me that the nail polish was terrible quality. The massage lasted two seconds and during this time she was apologizing to a different client for having her waiting, which tells me she was in a rush and overbooked. That’s not what a manicure should feel like. It’s meant to be relaxing. I did not feel relaxed at all. I asked for a French manicure with a very simple design, to which I was told that the design was too complicated and they didn’t have the tools for it. Aside from lovely mani-pedi, facials and massage are my favorites. Suong is one of the nicest people I have ever met.
