I had Pegah and she did such a good job! I have really long hair and wanted to keep the length and add long layers and some low key curtain bangs – she nailed it! My hair is still long, healthier now and has a bit of volume. Love it!! Haircut

I came across this salon after my previous stylist moved far away and feel so lucky to have discovered Jackie. I decided to book with her after seeing so many positive comments, even though I had to schedule a few weeks out. The salon is clean and inviting upon entering, and as soon as I was introduced to Jackie I knew I was in good hands. She is not only incredibly talented, but incredibly thoughtful, genuine, down to earth, and easy to be around. That’s the kind of person I want to spend time/money with 🙂 I had a grown out balayage and she listened intently to my desires…was honest with me and gave her professional opinion. We ended up doing some highlights and lowlights & the blonde turned out so icy and beautiful. The lowlights really give the edgy/contrast look I was going for. Thank you, Jackie, and can’t wait to see you again soon!!

I debated whether to put up a negative review, but I feel compelled to warn against an inexperienced stylist they have. My hair was chopped! I asked for a simple trim and it’s beyond me why that was so difficult. I’m upset every day, when my hair NO longer lays flat on my head. There is a puff on one side. And, the other side is UNEVEN also. I’ve been going to another salon, further away and tried this place. I asked for an experienced stylist and the woman up front highly recommended the woman who cut my hair. I went back so one of their experienced stylists could correct it, and said that it wasn’t the other stylists fault, it was just too much thinning. How can it not be her fault? Yes, it was her fault. It’s not just a LITTLE uneven. She took a chunk out. Not what I expected from what I thought was a good salon. I need to chop it off now and start over, after growing out for a long time. Will be returning to my original salon, as it’s WORTH the extra 20 minutes. I could have walked next door to the Hair Cuttery, paid 20% what I paid at Shapes, and walked out with an evenly cut trim. Terrible experience.

I got my first hair cut from Jackie in 2006 and that was also the first time I visited Shapes, Salon & Day Spa and since 2014 I am getting haircuts regularly from Jackie and she is the “ONLY” reason that I come to this place. Jackie always do such an excellent job cutting and coloring my hair. She is the master of her art and is always very courteous, friendly and professional. Now my wife is also her regular client and we highly recommend getting hair cuts from Jackie. She is the best!

We we’re in desperate need of a haircut after a long period in quarantine. I was nervous about going to a salon, but the folks here were not only extremely friendly, but exercised every precaution to prevent the spread of germs. My husband and I came out feeling refreshed and looking great thanks to Hannah and Helen’s expertise. If you’re worried about safety during these times, I’d highly recommend this salon, for their thoughtfulness and care. We’ll be going back for sure!

My girl Jackie is the best! I started at Shapes as a customer in 1986, and though I followed my stylist around for a few years when she moved to another salon, returned to Shapes in Herndon when she retired in 2012 and asked for someone young, which is when I found Jackie! Highly recommend Shapes, I always feel at home there, staff is excellent and right on top of trends yet willing to accommodate YOU with the look you are comfortable with, even if you are not so ‘trendy’ anymore 🙂

They did a health question ahead of time when booking, then when arriving asked again, took temp, lots of social distancing, face masks, and even are sanitizing each pen after use! I stumbled upon Jackie when I was redeeming a facial I received at a raffle. I was thoroughly impressed with the cut/color she was given the woman she was working on, and their close relationship. I went to her on a whim, and gave her full discretion on my cut and color. She was thorough in understanding my needs (low maintenance, able to get hair in a pony, etc.), and spent time perfecting the perfect cut and color for me. I couldn’t be happier. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Jackie during my haircut and color. Highly recommend!!!
