This was my first time getting my hair straightened in 4 years and I can say that the experience was worth the wait. The services that I received were a hydration treatment, silk press, and trim. My stylist was Nobi and she took good care of me. She was extremely kind and personable. Per previous experiences, I was expecting that I would have to wait to be served when I got there. To my delight, I was able to get taken care of as soon as I came. I loved the way my hair turned out and my family loved it too. With maintenance, the style lasted for two weeks. I washed my hair over the weekend and my curls bounced back with no heat damage. Overall my experience was wonderful and I will be going again.

The experience here is EXCELLENT! The stylists embody a true artist flare. They are incredibly inviting, and personally cater to your unique hair type and preferences. Being a new resident to the Alpharetta/Georgia area, these ladies make you feel at home and taken care of. A sincerely top-notch team. I am very happy with my services offered here. The new location is stunning, and well-manicured. Compliments to the salon! There are so many options at Shades of Color, you must visit them. You will be so pleased!!

I went to Atlanta for a wedding on the weekend of 4th July. I needed to style my wig and Googled the salons near by my hotel and saw the Shades of Color Salon. I called and Ms G answered the phone. I told her that I needed my wig styled and if she had any time to do so and she said yes. I was so grateful for the fact that this was the same day of the wedding I was going to attend that evening. She told me to come between 3-3:30. Because of the traffic, I was running late so I called her and she told me it was still OK. This salon ladies in Atlanta area is one of the best salons I have ever been. The professionalism is top notch. Ms G told me that they don’t style wigs but she did a fantastic job and I had so many compliments on that day at the wedding. Ms G, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really really appreciate it what you did for me. The next time I visit Atlanta again, I will definitely visit your salon. I wish you all the best at your new place.

So this is the second time I’ve been serviced at this salon, and while the person who both times did my hair beautifully and was very attentive and accommodating towards throughout the whole process, both times I left with a hairstyle that I didn’t initially book for. Now again both hairstyles were perfect and the quality of the work was there, but both times I got a different look then what I wanted to get. This second time I actually got the hairstyle I booked the first time I came. This time the salon didn’t inform me that I had to provide the hair for this specific style when I booked the appointment a month in advance, within the notes I wrote to include the hair needed with my final price. I unfortunately had to find this out during my appointment. While I had to settle for something else it bothered me a little that I paid full price for a style that I didn’t go in for while been done well. Also to point out that when I booked this appointment I had to wash and blow dry my hair to not be charged additionally, so I’m confused on how that part is clear and stated for the hairstyles needed but the main part of getting a style done is the HAIR and the salon didn’t have it or call to say I needed it to do what I wanted. I hope this aspect improves because the service of this place really is nice and I would like to give it a 5 star review but for now a 3 feels best as of right now which can change in the future, but my time and money felt disrespected a little for the lack of prep for both my appointments. While still I paid in full and tipped very well for their time and skills, this makes me think about if I should continue business here.
