Not sure if this experience warrants a review but here goes. I made an appointment, verified the time, then came in at the agreed time to find that there were no barbers. Not that all the barber were busy. They just weren’t there. I’m sure their service is great, I just never got the chance to experience it.

Seeing a 4.8* review, I called them to ask if they accept credit cards, today (Saturday, 2/25). The person on the phone said they do. Then I asked what is the rate, they said $15 for a regular men’s hair cut. With the assurance, I went to the shop.

I am to this barbershop because the one that I normally went to wasn’t open. I asked for a simple fade. The price was $15, the barber cut my hair and when he was done he didn’t show me my cut, I didn’t think nothing of it since I figured they were closing in a few minutes. So I left and paid him $15 plus a $5 tip as I normally do with individuals who cut my hair. I went back to my door room to show my friends and as I loved in the mirror, the barber messed up my hairline. My line was crooked, he shaved up to much and one side was longer than the other. I was so mad, I went back and the store was closed so I was forced to go to the nearest beauty supply store and buy a razor and gel to try and fix it myself this was in March 2018

The gentleman who did my hair made me feel so bad. He was complaining that my hair was knotted and catching serious attitudes with me. Then his wife had to take over and she was very nice to me. He then said that he was going to charge me more because of the way my hair was. This was a hurtful experience and I will never forget it.

The worst experience I have ever had at a barber shop. Place was hot no ac, the sign said 6+ for a beard trim and shape up and ended up paying 12 and then there was a 2 dollar fee for using a credit card yet my total was 15 dollars and it took him five minutes. Very disappointed with the actual cut which I can live with because hair grows back. What I can’t live with is the machine was literally cutting me and I told the guy he used another machine and it did the same. After shave is more like pure alcohol which is not good to get in your eyes either. Got home and my whole neck is bloodshot red and one side of my face is cut. Would strictly tell you to run away!

I was looking for a new stylist and was referred by my niece Starr to locate Anthony downtown. He had left the previous place and they claimed they didn’t know where he’d gone. I asked around downtown and when I found out that he was at 76ers Luxe Barbershop I initially thought no, I don’t want my hair done in a barbershop. I was wrong. 76ers is more than a barbershop, it is a full service hair shop. The atmosphere is peaceful and very relaxing. Anthony did my hair very nicely and is such a gentleman. My hair was dry and damage and had not been taken care of and he cut it down, gave me a hot oil treatment and conditioned my hair. Before I looked in the mirror I knew he had done right by my hair because of the way I felt. When I looked in the mirror, I looked good! It was shorter but he had to cut it down evenly. I told him from the beginning, give me your best, and he did. I received a compliment as soon as I left the shop. If you are looking for a real stylist that knows their craft, look up Anthony at 11 Central Avenue in Newark. I’m happy I did. I found a new stylist after going to my old one for 22 years. .Everybody can’t do my hair, I won’t let them but Anthony at 76ers can. One last thing. His other clients were praising his ability to do hair and his character as a person. I am sincerely happy I found him. God is good!!!
