Lourdes is very knowledgeable with 30 plus years of experience, she knows what she is doing. She colored my hair, shampoo and conditioner. She uses Truss an Italian brand in your hair. She is very nice and cares about your hair needs. I am very pleased with her work and how relaxing her salon feels. I will definitely be a returning customer. Her English is not the strongest but is good enough to understand you and her amazing work is strong and at the end of the day that is what you are looking for, someone that will take care of your hair and what you need done. After moving down to the Keys full time, I’ve managed to find a great primary care physician, a dentist, a dermatologist, a gastroenterologist and now one of the most important a hair dresser! Her name is Lourdes at Serenity Hair Salon! I was in desperate need of a cut and color! I called and she fit me in her schedule! She did a great job, her salon is spotless and she is extremely nice! I highly recommend her!

I have been coming here to see Lourdes for a year now and I absolutely love her work-I travel between Chicago and Florida keys and have had great experiences in both places; however the cut I’ve loved the most is the first one Lourdes gave me and since then I prefer to only let her cut my hair. Yes she doesn’t speak perfect English, however she speaks much better English than I do Spanish and I am grateful that in this day and age we have great resources like translator to help us communicate. I recently decided to do something to freshen up my style and hide the grey that is starting to peek through. Lourdes did an amazing job of camouflaging my grey and my husband LOVED IT! He still hasn’t stopped admiring and complimenting me on my new look! I left the salon feeling great. Thanks so much Lourdes! You are a blessing!

The best haircut I have had in 20 years!!! Very clean and lovely place! The music was soft and soothing. Lourdes knew exactly what to do with my hair. She listened to my requests and cut it perfectly. Products were also top notch. Can’t thank Lourdes enough for taking me even though she is very busy. She does not speak English fluently but her positive attitude and experience more than make up for it! She is a very happy person and does a fantastic job.

I visited this salon on Oct 20. First of all Lourdes hardly speaks any english, you better speak spanish or bring a picture of the cut you want. She kept telling me I would be pleased with my cut, even though she didn’t understand what I asked for. When I tried to show her something about how I like my hair to be cut she got annoyed. She wanted me to talk into her translator on her phone, and that is really awkward. My hair has a lot of volume, I wanted her to cut it short, layer it, and thin it out. She gave me three layers, like steps, and told me to do nothing else to my hair because more layers wouldn’t look good. Then at the end she charged me $50 because my hair has a lot of volume and takes a lot of work to style. I sat on her chair for a total of 55 min, which included her talking on the phone with 3 people, and handing something out to someone that came in. She had previously told me she charged between $30-$50 for a cut and style depending on the length of the hair, but she had to see it first. Well, I went to the store after the salon, looked in the mirror, and my hair had puffed like a baloon, looked ridiculous. I went home and flat ironed it to make it look decent. Later I washed it, took forever to blow dry and style (not what I wanted), and noticed how crooked her layers are. I find it interesting she has so many 5 star ratings, yet, if you call her she fits you in the next day. She may be good for some people but all these 5 star ratings are definitely doctored.

My experience wasn’t great. I’m not sure if it was a language barrier or if she isn’t used to cutting men who have long hair. I tried to explain that I wanted my hair cleaned up since I am growing it out to donate. But, that I didn’t want any length cut from it, unless need be. She basically only cut an inch off of my hair, and with wash and shampoo, she was done in less than 15 minutes total. I left feeling like what did I truly receive being done, except the one thing I asked to not be done. The lady was nice, and again, I was not sure where the miscommunication happened. I won’t be going here again.

I asked for layers to de-bulk, and keep a nice soft V and some layers to frame my face. The cut was wonderful, and then she carefully blew it dry and styled it to have the nice bouncy waves at the end. I wish I had a before photo so you could see the mess it was with dead, lighter colored hair at the end. Due to the virus I’ve been cutting it at home (not too shabby) but coming to Lourdes reminded me that you can’t beat the work of a professional.I’m super happy to patronize family-affair businesses like these instead of chains. I felt comfortable here and even Lourdes’ husband talked to me – so nice!You will not be disappointed with your experience here, I could not recommend more.
