Scisters Salon is San Diego’s first Zero Waste Salon, offering beauty products in bulk and various other supplies for living a zero waste, intentional lifestyle. An immense amount of thought is given to how the salon is operated, the services offered, and the options of products that are used and retailed. The team takes pride in finding and customizing products with easily recognized ingredients, eliminating toxins, and integrating wellness in your beauty routine. The salon was founded by Melissa Parker and Easton Bajsec in 2010. The young women wanted to offer an approachable and welcoming experience to both guests of the business and employees.

I love this Salon! A friend recommended Katherine to me about a year ago and the rest is history! I’ve always left the salon with the biggest smile because I’m so happy with the results. It can be hard to get the “perfect blonde” shade but Katherine nails it every time. The best part is the grow out blends so well that I can stretch appointments out to 3-4 months at a time. My hair is the healthiest it’s ever been.

Katherine at Scistors Salon is amazing! She takes careful thought into what’s best for my hair and what will look best on me. She’s a blonde specialist and incredible at what she does. Every time I come, I feel pampered. I’m offered hot herbal tea and when I get shampoo, I feel like I’m literally at a spa. The vibe in the salon is amazing too. They even sell all homemade products that are actually good for you and no chemicals. I truly love this place. So happy I found it. The products I use from them has also done wonders for my hair.

I absolutely love this salon. Laid back, relaxing, and with an amazing philosophy. I love the products in the apothecary: embers & blooms candles and the shampoo and conditioner are my absolute faves. And they will even add custom essential oil blends to address anything my scalp is going through. And my hairstylist, Katherine, has literally given me the best hair of my life. She keeps it easy to maintain and very low maintenance, but I feel more confident than ever. Not to mention she is just a joy to be around and gives me the best head massage during my shampoos. Coming here is my absolute favorite!

It surprisingly took me FOREVER to find a great salon that does my blonde the way I like it. Katherine is the blonde expert! I get my cuts with Taylor and she’s amazing as well. I love how eco friendly the salon is, and I can get my shampoo/conditioner bottles refilled there. Their refill products are amazing, they’re amazing, 10/10 would highly recommend.
