Simone is amazing! A few months ago, one of her long-term clients (20+ years) recommended her when I needed a color correction, highlight and cut. At my first appointment, Simone listened to what I wanted, offered some suggestions and I immediately felt like we were on the same page. I was struck by her attention to detail – she is truly an artist when it comes to hair color. In addition to the color, she used the Olaplex conditioning treatment that left my hair in wonderful shape. The transformation was dramatic – when I walked into her salon I had dry, washed out, shapeless hair and when she was finished it was smooth, shiny and the color was very natural with beautiful highlights. Every time I go to Simone I know I’m going to leave with great hair. I highly recommend her and wish I could give her more than five stars!

I have been to A LOT of salons in Richmond and I can say that Scissors is the best in town! I have never met a nicer group of people in my life. Allison greeted me, gave me a tour of the salon and provided me with beverages and fresh popcorn!! Then the amazing Simone took one look at my hair which had been butchered by another salon and not only fixed it but transformed my hair!! Simone and Allison gave me pointers on how to not only take care of my hair but styling tips as well. I came out of there looking like a million dollars! My husband said my hair is the best it has ever looked!! Thank you Simone for not only gorgeous blond color but a sexy cut that turns heads! You are the best!!

You know, a great way to find a good stylist is to ask someone with fabulous hair where they go. Well, that is how I found Simone at Scissors Hair Studio. The friend who told me about Simone has hair that is nothing like mine; hers is very soft and fine. Mine is so thick and so coarse, that I actually feel sorry for any stylist whose doorstep I have darkened. The first time I went to Simone, we talked about my hair and what I wanted and she offered suggestions for a couple of cuts. During our conversation, it became apparent to me that she really knew what she was doing. So much so that I felt completely comfortable letting her pick the cut and style. I didn’t regret it. She gave me a great cut and an undercut like I have never had before. Because my hair is so thick, I have had plenty of undercuts before, but this one was very unique. She removed a tremendous amount of unnecessary bulk from my hair. In doing so, washing, drying, and styling my hair is not the chore that it used to be. I am able to dry my hair much faster and when it’s dry it actually has motion and movement, rather than just hanging there serving no other purpose than to give a good indication of the relative humidity in the air. Not only does Simone offer great advice, she has the skills to back it up. As I mentioned, my friend and I have very different heads of hair, and she does a great job of creating a great style for both of us. I’ve been going to Simone for about two years now, and these days, people ask me who my stylist is :).

I really lucked out by finding this place straight off when I moved to Richmond. They caught my attention by being close by and by saying they specialize in keeping long hair long. I have had long hair for years now, I love it, and I hate going into a salon where the first thing the stylist wants to do is cut it all off! Not the case here at all! Everyone in the shop is super friendly and welcoming. Simone is a master at beautiful long cuts and she also loves to help the “hair-styling-challenged” such as myself with tips and tricks to style my hair, explaining them well enough that I can actually recreate them at home. It really is the best salon I have ever been to! I can’t speak yet for their other spa services, but I did bring in my boyfriend’s daughter for some highlights and she was so happy we are going back again next time she visits.

Simone is the best!! I discovered Scissors two years ago & had my first appointment on my birthday which was the best birthday present! I have been getting my hair colored and cut at Scissors faithfully since! She has been able to make my curly, long hair beautiful! I have people stop me constantly complimenting my hair! She not only hides my roots & grays, but she adds hi-lights and low-lights to give me such natural beachy sun drenched locks that are perfectly cut and styled! Her staff is also a pleasure to experience, including the cuddly kitty that sits on my lap! 5 stars plus!!!

Best hair salon experience I’ve ever had! The staff was very friendly and most importantly very knowledgeable. Along with a beautiful cut that exceeded my expectations, the stylist gave me very specific tips and tricks to help me protect and style my hair to professional standards. She was open to all of my questions and didn’t hold back any trade secrets! I can’t wait to bring my girlfriends back there to enjoy their upstairs spa!!! I’ve had my hair cut twice here and been very happy both times. Simone appreciates long hair and doesn’t just try to chop it off. She has also taken time to show me new ways to style my hair both times. The studios decor is really cute too!
