When I made my daughter’s appointment I explain to them she was 5 and autistic and asked if there was an appointment time where they would not be very busy because my child could be loud. I get there and they were wonderful until we pay them. As we were leaving we realized my daughter’s favorite toy dinosaur was missing which of course caused my daughter to meltdown. We tried to calm her down while looking for the dinosaur. They told us take one of their prized little dinosaur toys and leave. I tried to explain it didn’t work like this and she was attached to this one toy they basically told us that we were distracting their other clients and needed to get out.

Update 11/5 – We brought our boys back today and the team was very attentive and their hair came out great. The hairdressers asked how they could ensure we were happy this time after our last review. I really appreciate the effort to improve the experience from our last visit, it shows that they really care. We’ll be back again.

It’s supposed to be my first son’s haircut so I thought about coming here, I do wish it was better professionally through our phone call. One of the lady’s I was on the phone with asked for my son’s last name and as I told her she started laughing which kinda through me off. I never play when it comes to making fun of my child I just didn’t understand what was funny about it. For a first timer please make it more professional on the phone, it probably wasn’t intentional but was definitely unprofessional and through me off a bit.

My husband brought my son in for a haircut yesterday. We have been 2 or 3 times before and haven’t had an issues until this time. My son’s haircut is awful. One side looks like a bowl cut and the other side looks like a normal buzzed side and scissor top that’s blended. I understand it’s not an easy job to cut a toddlers hair but we started bringing our son there because they specialize in children’s haircuts. If my sons hair was just a little uneven or a little choppy that would be one thing and I wouldn’t be writing this review but it’s so bad I felt the need to say something and now I am going to have to buzz is hair because his haircut is so bad. Also I found it annoying that I booked an appointment and wasn’t told at the time of booking that you needed to pay in cash. If you want to change your policy about payment then that’s your right but it should be mentioned when people make an appointment especially when the changed happened only a month ago.

It was our first time there and our family was blessed, with it. Our son went into his race carlooking like he went threw a child drive threw haircut. Also must mention the play area for the children to play in.Looking forward on coming back, thanks

We have been using this awesome place since my first son’s cut (he will be 13 soon) and I can only say they are doing wonderful job with kids and great haircuts. Even if the child is crying or squirming in the chair they are magically able to perform their job. Place was recently nicely renovated and is always inviting and clean. We came early today and were taken 10 min before our scheduled appointment. We highly recommend Scissors kids inc.!

Update: The response from the owner only reinforces my review. It was not a half hour of trying to get my child comfortable, so I do not appreciate the attempt to discredit our experience. If you look through other responses to negative reviews from the owner, it’s clear that they do not take customer’s feedback seriously enough to effect change. Do not use this salon. We took our child to another salon and guess what – it went great! The problem is Scissor Kids. Good luck!

Where to start? This company is grossly out of line in any respects. They completely butchered my son’s first haircut. We went in and the two women were in the back. The greeting was not kid/baby friendly whatsoever. In fact, they even started to bicker about who would be cutting his hair.

Hope cut her hair and she was wonderful! She noticed my daughter was wearing a unicorn t-shirt and proceeded to get her their unicorn cover/smock for my daughter to wear during the haircut. I enjoyed nice conversation with Hope and she was simultaneously very attentive to my daughter. She offered to do a braid at the end and put some sparkles in her hair which helped to make the overall experience fun for my daughter who now can’t stop asking to go back to get her haircut again!! When I told them it was her first haircut they immediately got the “first haircut certificate” and camera ready:) and they were so good with helping my daughter to feel comfortable. There’s a play area for your kids while you wait and they get to sit in cute car-like seats to get their haircut… There’s cocomelon playing on the TV and the ppl here are experts… So quick and I loved my lil boy’s final hairstyle!
