Stephen has been cutting my hair for many years and every haircut has been a winner. Recently I wanted something a little different but didn’t know what. Stephen gave me exactly the cut I wanted even though I didn’t know it until he was done. How fun! He’s got a great eye for what cut works best for the shape of your face. He also looks for how your particular head of hair wants to express itself and has a knack for bringing out the best in you and in your hair. Writing this review fresh out of Stephen’s chair today, and couldn’t be happier. In the past year, I’ve started getting more gray hairs than I am really comfortable with (being in my mid-30s) — maybe it’s Covid, who knows! But my main concern with covering grays is that the color is natural, and won’t leave me with a harsh line of where the gray hair starts growing back in. Stephen understood my concerns and concocted a mix of demi-permanent color, with gloss, etc — and voila, my hair looks the same as my natural color a few years ago. Beyond the service, the studio is incredibly stylish and clean. We recently moved to Boulder from LA, and it’s such a treat to go to a beautiful (not to mention very intimate) space. Stephen is so friendly, with a really vibrant personality. You can tell he is passionate about his craft, and it shows! Will be returning for my touch up in 8 weeks. Highly recommended!!!
