Could do better in the customer svc. No one likes a rushed shampoo with acrylic nails. Also they put u under the dryer with the temp on hell.

I went last month to get a blowout for the first time in about 9 years and the entire experience was terrible! My hair is natural and very curly, they use subpar products to wash/condition which left my hair very dry. The girl doing my hair kept raking through my curls instead of properly detangling them. The blow dryer was entirely too hot, I was visibly flinching from my scalp being burnt, but the girl just kept going. The whole service cost me $80 even though it should’ve been way less. After about a week I decided to wash my hair, and the whole back section of my hair will barely curl back up. There’s also a section in the back of my hair that endured so much heat damage now clumps of my curls are breaking off :(. The overall state of my hair is horrible after going to this salon, it kind of looks like I relaxed my hair because of all the straight/damaged pieces.

First time at this establishment. My normal stylist was sick. The blow dryer was excessively hot. This stylist burned me 13 times with the flat iron. Each time saying sorry sweetie. Don’t say sorry, stop burning me. I had to stop her twice. When asked, no other stylist were available. This stylist also used a plastic burned orange comb to style my hair, scratching my already burned up scalp. NEVER AGAIN. I came home with my hair looking like a helmet. What a waste of time and money.

Susana and the shampoo person really did a number on my hair from the deep conditioning to the trim. Their prices are average which means a lot to me since I’m a penny pincher when it comes to that. I’m very particular about my hair and I’m happy to say that I left out more than satisfied.

Love this salon. Other salons have never explained why they didn’t think bleaching my hair was a good idea; just redirected to another color or style. This salon and owner was different. After feeling my hair and asking what my routine was, she felt confident in starting the bleaching process. She also was teaching her staff how to do the bleaching process on dyed hair adlnd what to look for. I will be going back this week to start the next phase of coloring and am so glad I decided to come here. The owner and a few of her staff even stayed later past closing to ensure everything came out right; no rush job.

Was very disappointed, online it states hair color 90 dollars usually it comes with the style and I pay around 120. This time when I went to the shop it was late in the day and I assume they did not want to do it and I was informed they were charging me 165 cash only. I would prefer you just say you don’t want to do any more hair today because it will take time. Bad way to do business.

I was sooo excited to go get my hair done. I have natural hair and get it done once a year to get the ends trimmed. I went there my hair was nice she did a good job at first although my hair color was blonde on the front b/c it got burned from the heat which could happened. After I washed my hair a few days after my hair started falling off every time I touched it. I was loosing chucks of hair and still am. My hair texture is gone it looked like I permed or a relaxer to it. I don’t know what was in the shampoo but I worked for hard on my hair for years and I really cried as my hair won’t stop falling off. This is my very first review, I never did one before but I just could not let this go as I am talking, my hair is completely ruined. My sister used to go there when she had relaxed hair so I trusted it never again. All my effort is gone and I spent $140+ on my hair that day. I don’t even know what to do at this point. I honestly don’t know how to fix it.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueI originally booked an appointment at Salon 809 and after terrible customer service I decided to call Carmen at Sashelvis. I told her what had happened and explained how I needed my hair done and had already searched the area for alternatives. She was so warm and told me to come right away. I got there and wad the only client (they just opened at 10). She took great care of me and I left feeling wonderful and having a hairstyle I loved!I’ll definitely be back to visit again. The salon is a bit pricey but it’s worth it. Carmen knows what she’s doing and is really a sweetheart.Service: HairstylingI originally booked an appointment at Salon 809 and after terrible customer service I decided to call Carmen at Sashelvis. I’ve been patronizing this business since I was a young girl. I was pleased to frequent, the first Silver Spring location, the Bowie location and even the second and third locations (Georgia ave/Georgia ave- inside of barbershop) where Annie did my hair until the pandemic hit. Now, once weekly I go to the Bowie location.

Critical: Professionalism, ValueReceived a simple roller set – blow out! Charged $80!!! Very cheap quality products used to wash/condition. Nothing used in hair during or following set/blow out. Maybe the woman doing the very long extensions was upset – I was not willing to wait 2 hrs after dry for her to finish my blow out. Guy stylist had to finish – she told him to charge me $80!! Had.to have my hair redone 3 days later at another salon $45!!Service: HairstylingReceived a simple roller set – blow out! Charged $80!!! Very cheap quality products used to wash/condition.
