After several horrible experiences with hair stylists, I have had nothing but positive experiences are Sara’s Downtown Hair Designs. Sara is my stylist and she continues to impress me with her styling talent. The salon is adorable, clean, stocked with a variety of products and decorated nicely. Sara and her staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The tanning bed is extremely clean and provides a relaxing environment for customers. Sara always works around my schedule and promptly schedules appointments or answers my questions, whenever I have them. I am pleased with everything the salon has to offer and am definitely a satisfied customer!

My husband and I both had our hair cut by Sara at her salon. We both felt that she did an excellent job and walked out happy. The price was what we would have expected to pay for a good haircut. We will be sure to go back the next time we need to have our hair done.

Really liked my haircut and my stylist did a great job. It looks very cute and she did exactly what I had envisioned. The stylist working the chair next to me however was a little rude and almost catty in the way she talked down to people, just while engaging in hair cut small talk. May or may not go back based on that. Solid haircut tho.

This is a nice place and my first experience with a cut from Sara was fine. My second cut with a different stylist was very disappointing. Even though I told her at the beginning the simple thing I wanted and where to use a razor, when I got home I realized I had most of the same hair remaining. I got short-changed! Believe it or not … I had my husband redo it and it came out perfect! I’m going to hire him from now on. I am purposefully not naming the stylist because she is a very charming gal but, in my opinion, she talked way too much to be able to concentrate on what I requested. And I’m out $30… I could have called for a redo but it would have been difficult to schedule and endure.

A great place to go if you’re looking for a hair service! This place is clean, comfortable, professional, and the girls are wonderful. Just this past winter Sara added a brand new tanning bed. I cannot say enough good things about the bed or her selection of lotion either. Since the first time I stepped foot in this place I haven’t went anywhere else 🙂

Got my hair done here and regretted it. 1st time my hair was cut it was completely different from the picture I gave them. 2nd time the cut was good but basic. Then came in for a color and payed around $100 including tip. Looking back I realize how many mistakes were made. After bleach was applied she put me under a hair dryer and left me. Didn’t come back for a good 40 minutes, which can be damaging, to check on me. Then when we realized we couldn’t do the prechosen color she pulled out different artic fox colors. Then while applying the dye to wet hair, she claimed she had no idea what artic fox is. Hair faded quickly and then the bleach job was splotchy

I used to drive to Ludington to get my hair cut, I’m not sure why I didn’t know about this place before. Sara cares about her customers “much like Angie” in Ludington. Both places get 5+ stars from me
