This is my first time here and I was impressed! Jenny was great with my lower back tension and my right shoulder (I let her know). The place was cleat, neat, and there is a heater in the room. She used hot oil and hot towels. I’ll be back.

So, my boyfriend and I wanted to have a good day starting with a massage. San Leon Massage is the only place in town so we headed there. Walking in, the place was calm and cool. We waited for someone to greet us and when she did she called over the other massuse. The first problem I noticed was that there is a language barrier. The women spoke nothing of english amd getting them to understand our request took about 10-15 minutes upon arrival.

Honestly, I don’t even know where to start. I walked in, and the place seemed quiet and calm. Very serene, for sure. That was a good start. There was no one at the front desk. My girlfriend and I called out, and after a minute or two someone came to the front desk. Not sure where they were, because we were the only customers at the time. Anyway, I requested two Swedish massages, with $10 off each one. I had seen online that they were having a promotion. It was posted all over their website. Had been for months. The two girls, who spoke absolutely no more than 4 words (I’ll get to those words in a minute) of English, pretended to know nothing about the $10 off and said “no” to my request probably 15-20 times. I then showed her the promotion online, and she took a picture of it with her phone, and continued to say, “No, no.” She waved her finger at me and pointed at the door for us to leave. First word: no. She then pointed at the door and said, “No, no no no no no. No, sorry. No.” Second word: sorry. I then pulled $100 out, and told her to make a call to the owner. She did, and of course, she ended up taking the money and giving both my girlfriend and I a massage. Well, her and another girl who had been there the entire time during our slow conversation. They did not give us an hour-long massage. They gave us, and I am exactly on que when i tell you, a 40-minute long massage. And the massage is $1/minute. I basically paid $1 × 20 minutes x 2 people that I shouldnt have had to. Thats $40 stolen from me. By the way, when both therapists hurt my girlfriend and I at one point, neither of us could seemed to be able to get them to ease up. They couldn’t understand us. At all. Anyway, once the massage was over, we got dressed and proceeded to leave. One girl grabbed me by the arm, held her hand out, and said, “Tia. Tia? Yeah, tia tia. Tia. Uh-huh. Yeah. Tiiiiiiaaaa.” It took me five minutes to realize she was asking for a tip. Begging for a tip. Basically telling me I had to tip her. I’m not counting “tia” as a word she knew. But… Third word: yeah. Fourth word: uh-huh. So then, we had a long conversation, via Google Translate, in which the girls both proceeded to tell me that they make absolutely no wage. No wage at all. They told me that the full $100 (normally $120) that it costs goes to the bosses. Not them. That they make absolutely no money except for whatever is tipped. Which is not customary. I pulled up the median hourly and annual wage if a massage therapist. Showed it to them. They laughed. Said they get absolutely zilch. That they only make whatever is tipped to them. So I ended up having to give each if them another $20. So a massage that was supposed to cost me $80 (given it was only 40 minutes long instead of an hour) for two people, cost me $140 instead. Not to mention, they were rude to us from the beginning. As soon as we established we were paying in full but with a $10 discount. Funny how the older lady got annoyed with us right away, but yet that was money for her boss anyway, huh? The massage felt okay. But I was in such a horrible mood for dealing with everything else.

I highly recommend getting a massage here. The inside is very clean and relaxing atmosphere and the massage was superb. I did not realize how much tension I was carrying in my back and shoulders until after the swedish massage. Looking forward to the next visit.
