The worst salon experience & haircut of my life. :(. I was so excited to check out a new salon. I showed the stylist ( who is also the owner) several pictures of how hair should be cut – and several pictures of what I didn’t want. It should have been a simple trim , long layers, face framing , and I specifically requested NO BLUNT cut. We also agreed on length to be trimmed off. ( about 3-4 inches)!SHE CUT OFF 7-8 inches of my hair AND cut the back BLUNT ( not layered and/or “U” shape as I had asked and even showed pictures . A blunt cut was exactly what I did not want . My hair was so short there was no way to fix it. I wanted to cry it was so bad it seemed like some kind of joke. (( I will say on a positive note – the bangs and face framing at least aren’t too horrible )) She suggested thinning it out but honestly after being there for over an hour, I was just scared to have her touch my hair anymore . The other concerns with this salon is that most stylist appreciate if you speak up and say “oh… can you please take a little more off here… or round off the edge here… and add a layer there” but each time I tried to communicate with her, she just got defensive instead of trying to understand. I should have known as the vibe was off from the beginning: I was a new client and she kept leaving my chair to go work on or chat with other clients … she talked more with staff than me. the person who washed and dried my hair , while a sweet girl, was clearly very inexperienced. Hopefully she will be less timid and more comfortable and skilled with time. My stylist and owner however went so far as to put her hand on my arm and literally put pressure with a little push telling me to leave! what?! Nope. You don’t physically touch someone and give a little push just because they don’t like that you butchered their hair and would prefer you not try to fix it as each attempt made things worse! It was so bizarre. I just stood up and said I would need to have someone else fix my hair bc clearly there was a communication barrier between me and the stylist – but instead of being professional

I had my hair done by Brit last week and absolutely loved my experience. It’s so hard to find a hair stylist who is really good with brunettes but Britt exceeded my expectations! The salon is very clean, has a open and positive environment and the other stylists are very fun and friendly! Brit’s assistant is on top of her game and so adorable! I am so excited to have found Salt Salon.
