Critical: Professionalism, QualityI went to this salon about 6-7 weeks ago requesting a hair color change. The girl who did my hair was sweet but overly confident in what she was doing resulting in damaging my very healthy long hair.The first session my hair looked great, it had all over blonde baby lights. The second session I suggested we just fix the root and add a defined money piece but she insisted to lighten it some more and the manager of the store suggested she put on a color that made my hair dark almost to its original color. The stylist then recommended I wash out the dye with dish soap until I went back a week later to have the color removed and have a blond tone put in which then left me with a yellow color with faint orange lights and a super harsh transition. I did as she said and now weeks later my hair in the unhealthiest it’s ever been. It’s extremely dry and I experienced a ton of breakage. 70% of my hair is completely damaged I would need to cut it shoulder length for it to feel healthy again even though the breakage has left some pieces of my hair being just a couple inches short. There was no advice given on how to care for my hair after to much damage and no product suggestions.I am very disappointed because after doing my research I found many mistakes. First of all, the stylist should not have lightened my hair a second time only a week apart. Per my research, a stylist should lighten hair months apart to allow the hairs bonds and proteins to rest. Second, dish soap is extremely drying and damaging, she should not have suggested that considering the lightening session already had dried out my hair. Third, at the point where she did not know what she was doing with my hair she should have been honest, stopped putting more product and developer, and fixed the transitions but instead insisted it looked great and offered to fix the transitions and add dimension back in for another 150 dollars 4 months later after I spent $200 to lighten it, $30 in additional products for her to fix it, & $60 tip total.I want to add that if I had been warned how much more damage my hair would endure using dish soap, removing the color, and using more products/developers on it, I would have been ok with the results of the second session and waited a few months for it to wash out and leaving my hair to restThey did refund $85, the cost of the second session after I complained that my hair was so damaged when wet it became stretchy and gummy & stringy when dry & I have now spent over $100 on products to fix it and will be spending more on bonding/protein treatments.Needless to say, I should not have had to do all the research I did to find out all the mistakes as I was not the one who went to school for hair and the manager should not have suggested to put something in my hair if she did not know the end goal. I also did tell the stylist I knew it would take more than one session to lighten my hair and I was aware we weren’t going to get it as light but she tried to get it super light anyway.My hair is like my security blanket and now it looks terrible naturally and I have to take multiple steps to fix all of the damage and basically paid to fry my hair because it is now back to dark with a gentle brown Demi dye that I will need to keep up with to avoid damage from permanent dyes that contain ammonia. This will take me at least 3 years to recover from so if you go to this salon please do your research and make sure you are very direct with what you want and ask questions so you know what types of products are being put in your hair. I wasn’t going to write a review but I literally lost sleep knowing that my hair is a lot more damaged than it would’ve been if the proper steps had been taken and now I will need to slowly cut my hair and wait years for it to grow out and be healthy again meanwhile dealing with all the breakage, split ends, and maintenance.Summer- I gave you a call back and left a voice message requesting a refund for the rest of what I paid so that I can use that towards a bonding treatment and have not heard back from you.Service: HairstylingI went to this salon about 6-7 weeks ago requesting a hair color change.
