Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueFirst hair appt since COVID lockdown, I was desperate. My regular gal was booked out past a month. This place was right around the corner, no one recommended it, just noticed it in my neighborhood and googled it, saw it had some great reviews now I agree. They deserve a detailed rant on why. I called the night before. The gal who answered was professional and understanding, offered me an appointment with Ashley S. first thing the next morning WOW!!!! She sent me a reminder text while I was on the phone, a great business feature. I arrived a little early and was told by the Receptionist that Ashley was “running a little late” as my phone was receiving a text msg asking if it was ok for the appointment to be changed by 15 minutes. Personally, I don’t believe Ashley had enough time to be properly notified she even had an early morning client to be on time. So I wouldn’t use the term she was “running a little late” its more correct to imply we were “running a little early” to Ashley S. credit. The receptionist was assuring us they’re working hard to be totally COVID compliant, as she is dripping with sweat, wiping down everything, with disinfectant, with dawned gloves, mask, spray-bottle in hand, all completely understandable, and reassuring. I asked if they require a mask, she told us it’s optional in this stage but their staff will wear them if requested. About half inside were wearing them. The work station were 8-12 feet apart. I took a little walk around the strip mall on this beautiful cool June gloom morning to wait for Ashley. I’m a 58 year old walking dirty grey ‘n blonde rag-mop, embarrassed to be seen in public, and my husband wants me to grow it long again? My little walk was only about 5 minutes. Ashley arrived and we clicked right away, she went to right to work. My hair’s been neglected for 6 months with lots of grey roots, Ms. Clairol root dye damage and self bang chopping. Ashley worked her magic, she was very professional, friendly, matched my hair color perfectly, no smelly odors, I told her I wanted my hair to bounce and shine again, to have a little shape and style, and feel soft and smooth when I run my fingers through it. She was careful not to get chemicals on my face, my $700 Rx glasses or drip any on my clothes, I never even asked her to pay attention to those details like I usually have to with other stylist. When it was time to rinse, shampoo and condition that’s when I was hit with the biggest SURPRISE! She gave me the nicest scalp massage for about 10 minutes. I haven’t had a professional hair stylist actually massage my scalp muscles while shampooing and conditioning in probably 20 years. I mean no one does that anymore. Sure, I have had really nice shampoos with little rubs and pats but not a deep shiatsu sort of circular relaxing scalp massage. I am embarrassed to admit I actually was caught moaning and made us both laugh. She made my headache go away and I never even told her. That is what really earned her the 5+ star ratings. I’d give her a 10 star if I could. I am not sure if that is a Salon Strut thing or just an Ashley thing, very therapeutic in these stressful times. This is really important in a salon: the wash basin area. The chairs are newer high quality, well padded neck/shoulder support, It isn’t a junky or messy and the plexiglass dividers are really nice. The Water was the perfect temp and pressure the first time, no waiting, The faucet sprayer; high quality and controlled, not one mishap or need for apologies, all too common in most salons even those high end 5*s, to have water temp cold/hot scalp shocks, face/eye sprayed, water leaks down the back, clothes soaked, too much water pressure or not enough. All in all, awesome experience, Ashley S. was amazing, and the salon is Covid compliant and very accommodating to client needs. Most important my hair turned out perfect, exactly how I wanted it and with a special surprise!First hair appt since COVID lockdown, I was desperate. My regular gal was booked out past a month.
