Critical: ProfessionalismI contacted Salon Republic to request a referral to one of their stylist. I was referred to Deme. I spoke to Deme and Deme stated that she requires a consultation before seeing the client. I asked Deme if I could schedule an appointment for wash and style and during that appointment she could evaluate my hair and we can discuss hair care needs.Deme said, “THE WAY THAT I WORK IS ….. the client must book a consultation with me first so that I know whether or not this will be a good fit”. Deme also said I need to know if someone is going to be fighting with me or working with me. I asked Deme is the consultation free or is it a fee. She said it is a $30 fee.I was completely shocked by Deme’s response. Deme came across as though she needed to determine if I was worthy of her time and what’s worse is that I had to pay a $30 fee so that Deme could make that determination.I was already turned off at that point but I asked Deme what products does she use….as a customer I would like to know what products will be applied on my hair. Deme said I can explain it but you probably won’t understand it.WOW!I never responded to Deme’s outrageous statements. I think I was just in shock that a hair stylist would speak to a customer that way.Deme said she would text me a link to schedule an appointment and I told her that was fine but I had no intention of ever scheduling an appointment with her but Deme texting me the link was proof that I spoke to her.The next day, I called Salon Republic and spoke to the Property Manager to let him know about my experience with Deme….the same guy that referred me to Deme. The Salon Republic Property Manager told me that they simply rent to the business owners and they have no control over how they conduct their business. However, Salon Republic RECOMMENDED Deme and you would think that there would be some level of concern but NOPE.
