I had my hair colored and styled. Angelica did a fabulous job! I appreciated that they put something on my skin around the hairline to avoid the dye to bleed and she was detailed in covering the roots by parting my hair in very small chunks. The hair wash was comfortable and thorough. Everyone communicated very well making sure I was well taken care of. I had like 3 cups of coffee. My blowout looked gorgeous. When I’m back in the area, I will definitely come back and get my hair done here.

Critical: ProfessionalismI made a Monday appointment for a blowoutas a new client. My name was taken and I was given 11:00 am with Kirsten. I asked if any other information was needed (like a phone number). I was told no; I thought that was strange. Upon my arrival I was told that Kirsten called in sick and they called me at 10:20 am on my landline. I was already driving the 25 minute ride from my house to Tenafly. Apparently there was no other hairdresser there to accommodate me. Kirsten said she’d come in at 1:00 pm. I had other appointments and would not wait 2 hours for her anyway. I was disappointed in the manner in which this was handled and that I would have to do my own hair for that evening’s black tie event. I have been getting my hair cut/styled and everything else by Pavel for the past 13 years and I always leave happy! So I was so excited when he opened up his own place. The entire staff at Salon Pavel is professional, warm, friendly and talented! You can’t go wrong with anyone you go to, as I’ve happily learned. The atmosphere of the salon is also welcoming and very clean. Pavel has been a wonderful stylist for me that has turned into a friend and I would recommend this salon to all my friends and others interested.

Fantastic service, really professional salon, LOVE their extensions, have had them for almost a year (with re-fills) and they are as natural as they can look. Their colorists are fantastic, and overall the whole salon experience is what it should be without breaking your wallet. Best in Bergen county that I have personally been to.

Absolutely love Kirstin and what she has done for me with hair extensions. I’ve had a not so appealing situation happen up here in Jersey to the point, I traveled once a month to get them retaped by someone in DC. Then I found Salon Pavel and it’s been amazing. Kirstin definitely listens to what her clients want and gives them just that!! I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair, and not one person knows it’s tape in hair extensions.. now that’s talent by Kirstin! Highly recommend her for hair extensions and color treatments!

I recently decided I wanted to dye my hair blonde. I am half asian so my hair is very dark brown, almost black. I came in expecting this to be a long, arduous process- maybe even impossible. Other salons told me I would not be able to get to the color I wanted. This was not the case with Kirstin Murtha at Salon Pavel. She did an incredible job. She was able to get me to the exact color I was looking for, after I only showed her a few pictures! The process was pleasant and fast, the price was very fair, and the experience was overall fantastic. She is experienced, professional, and fabulous at what she does. I am now a light blonde and it looks so good people cannot even tell it is not natural. I will be coming back to see her for anything I need done from now on! Kirstin is the best hairstylist I have ever seen.
