Jess is my go to stylist for anything relating to curls for my hair. She can be talked to about anything and everything and will make you feel like you have known her your entire life. She is the curl expert for sure. My hair has never looked as good as it does leaving anywhere else because there is a process with curly hair when it is being cut, you can’t just cut it like straight or wavy hair and she knows this.

I got my first curly cut here and Sara walked me through every single step so I could recreate the look at home. Not only that, but she gave me papers with how to do each step and what products she used. This haircut was more expensive than most, but it was worth every single penny.

I’m a Black woman and wear my hair in its natural, coily state 24/7. I’ve been natural for 8 years, and I’d be lying if I said it’s become easier to find stylists that can cut and/or color my hair. If anything it feels more difficult because so many adept stylists are either booked several months in advance or on road the doing education. BUT! Hooray for IG because that’s how I miraculously found Jess at Salon Lola!! Not only is Jess an incredible stylist that gave me perfect blonde highlights, but she’s also an absolutely lovely human. There was no shuffling of clients, drama, or any of the typical shenanigans I’ve seen at other salons. Instead I experienced simple scheduling, clear and transparent communication, a friendly atmosphere, and phenomenal service!
